This is hands down the best hair product on the market if you’re into clay. All of the top male fashion influences will recommend prefer to Hanz de Fuko as a gold standard or something they are trying to replicate for cheaper with their own produces they are trying to sell. This stuff is incredible. I leaves your hair soft and non-greasy while proving an incredible holding power that is almost impossible to believe.People leaving negative reviews have zero idea how to use the product or how to care for their hair in general. For those interested, here is how you get best results:1) get hair thoroughly wet2) blow dry hair and style it into the general direction and style you plan on keeping before putting any product in (this is an absolute must step, if you skip this, get used to bad hair no matter the product)3) take a small amount of product into your palm and rub it until your hands and fingers are covered with an invisible, thin film. This is called emulsification, and is a must do step with thick clay’s like Hanz de Fuko. Even thinner product like J Crew requires this. All of the reviews referencing “plaster” and “hard to wash off hands” are user error from people with no idea what they’re doing. Use a small amount of product (a very little goes a very long way if you’ve properly blow dried your hair, and you can easily wash it off after you’ve emulsified it).4) apply into your hair going all the way down to the roots by running your entire hand and finger tips through the hair5) apply small amount of hair spray to lock in if neededIf you’re not doing all of these steps, don’t waste your money on nice hair products. It’s a YOU problem and not an issue with the product.

I’ve been using Hanz de Fuko Claymation for a while now, and it’s one of the best hair clays I’ve tried. It gives a strong hold with a very natural matte finish—nothing too shiny or greasy. What I really like is how it doesn’t damage or dry out my hair over time, unlike other styling products I’ve used in the past.Another great feature is that it’s easy to reactivate with just a bit of water. You don’t have to reapply more product throughout the day—just wet your hands slightly and restyle, which is super convenient. The only downside is the price. For the amount you get, it does feel a little expensive. But overall, it delivers on its promises and the quality is definitely there.

Decent quality product. The only reason I continue to use it is for better hair/scalp health. There's a bit of learning curve in using it, it can leave your hair a little sticky & it doesn't wash out easily. But as far as styling goes, it works well for a little messier look and seems to help with thickness appearance.

The other reviews mention some of these are solid/hardened and defective, I believe its supposed to be solid and the product is not defective. When you get it into your hands you really need to rub them together and warm the product up. Even with this the application is a little difficult.I have thin straight hair and a slicked back undercut, maybe around 6 inches long on the top of my head. L'Oreal had a product that they discontinued and I needed a replacement. I've tried L'Oreal Homme Mat Pomade, a few drug store products, andhair American Crew Fiber. None of them could maintain my hair slicked back and I end up touching my every few minutes through the day. This is the first product I have found in a very long time that holds my hair position and that I do not need to constantly fix throughout the day. This product isn't entirely matte with a very slight shine however it still looks natural and clean. For its strong hold and mostly matte texture this has my recommendation.

Things which are great:1. The hold. Nothing compares in terms of hold, especially when you consider point 2.2. How little you need. This is a product where for once you genuinely can use "a pea sized amount" (as other manufacturers claim) and it will actually hold well. In my experience in cheaper products you'd easily need 3-4 times the amount to get the same hold, which would also leave you hair feeling clumpy. This is at bare minimum strong wind resistant - it really is a strong hold yet it doesn't feel like your hair is bogged down in product. That brings us on to point 3.3. It isn't sticky/clumpy/leaves any residue. If you run your hand through your hair it doesn't particularly feel full of product, but you can re-style it. It lasts all day, easily 16+ hours. It washes out easily and if your hair gets wet (e.g. rain, swimming, etc) it doesn't do that annoying thing where you feel like product is dripping down your face. Are there any negatives? Not really. The only one that might not suit everyone is it has no smell whatsoever. Personally I prefer products with a nice fragrance. This doesn't smell of anything at all, although that's better than it smelling unpleasant. Given how good it is, this in itself isn't a bad enough point to rate it down for me.Yes it's more expensive than alternatives. But it's also better than every other product I've tried and I mean that genuinely. If you factor in how little of it you need per day it doesn't even work out that expensive in comparison to others. How long does it last? On my hair shown in the photo - which is grade 3 back/sides and 2ish inches on top - one pot would do me about 3 months.Any other benefits? The small pot makes it ideal to take on holiday or when travelling. The packaging is nice.Overall this is hands down the best hair clay. I've never found anything which comes close to it so keep rebuying it for the last year and a half.

This hair clay is a must-have in our home—we’ve repurchased it countless times! Though it’s branded for men, I use it too. For reference, we all have thick, dark hair, and this product works beautifully for every one of us.My husband uses it daily to keep his hair in place, we style our boys’ hair into soft spikes with it, and I love using it to slick back ponytails. My go-to method is dampening a dense boar bristle brush, applying a little product, and smoothing it through—my hair stays perfectly in place all day. It’s thick and needs water to activate, but a little truly goes a long way. Used correctly, it’s one of the best styling products out there. Just be aware it’s a gray clay, so applying too much can be visible in darker hair—but with the right amount, it blends in well. We use it daily and will always keep it stocked!

Is Claymation made with high-quality ingredients?

Yes, Claymation contains all natural ingredients, which means it’s actually good for your hair while providing powerful, “all-day” nourishment from roots to ends. Key ingredients include jojoba oil, sunflower seed oil, and castor seed oil.

Which Hanz de Fuko products work best for me?

For curly hair: Modify Pomade, Scheme Cream, or Hybridized Wax. For fine, thinning hair: Quicksand, Scheme Cream and our Natural Shampoo and Conditioner. For thick, unmanageable hair: Claymation, Quicksand, Sponge Wax or Gravity Paste.
