I try not to exceed 200 pages ans use chisel tip staples to make sure it penetrate the whole thickness of the stack of paper and 200 pages is almost fit tightly in with the guide adjusted all the way forward (1/4 -in). Glad I bought ths stapler. I wonder if Swingline or other manufacturer made any bigger stapler (i.g 300 pages and more than 1 in thick staples. I have tried to use this stapler to the maximum ( the paper stack just fit in, and I staple on front side and back side (six in total ) for 8 by 10 standard paper. It works fine and still holding the book together (that all I need). Good and strong stapler.

08-03-2026Works like a dream, SO easy to staple large documents, I don't have to put my entire body into it to staple things! The staples are often a bit larger at the back than I want (once they're folded over by the stapler itself) but I purchased this primarily for those 100+ page documents that our other heavy duty stapler can't handle and it works perfectly for those. If you're looking for a stapler to do 20-90pg documents, try the Swingline #35550.

08-03-2026I like this stapler. I use it for my accounting office and it gets a lot of use. I have one clerk who just cannot get the hang of using the right size staple and the right pressure. He consistently jams it because he doesn't use enough pressure the first pass so being able to clear a jam easily is important. It works great for all the others so I know it is him and not the stapler. It is well made and flatter, making it easier to line up the paper you need to staple. Big plus compared to others.

08-03-2026This is the best stapler for thick packs.I use this to staple the larger tax returns that a regular stapler cannot work on. It is easy on the hand to push the handle. It isn’t very heavy and it is easy to replace staples. I have not had to try the stuck staple feature yet and hope it works when the time comes. But we call this Big John and works very well.

08-03-2026If you think you can buy a high capacity stapler without ever experience it jamming, you are really kidding yourself. When I first bought this stapler, yes, it did jam a few times. But you just have to LEARN how to use it. If you press to fast or too soft it can jam. But once you learn the technique, it will NEVER jam. I've stapled about 6 or 7 200 sheet ebooks, and it jammed only two or three times and these jams occurred when I first started to use it. Overall, a good stapler, and if you don't like it, just simply return it, try another stapler, or send it to the manufacturer if you believe it is defective (it has lifetime warranty).
