This is my second purchase, since the first died after a year's worth of use. I've got 2 teenage boys in the house so it gets a lot of use, and the plastic bellows lost their elasticity from frequent compression. That said, when new it forces water into my oval-shaped toilet drain like no other plunger I've tried. Traditional plungers don't fit and don't make a seal. This seal isn't perfect, but it gets the job done. It's a little gross to clean afterwards, since the toilet slurry gets up inside the bellows and hollow handle, but it beats having a plugged toilet.

If you know what an opioid metabolism is, you know how frustrating it can be when your old toilet can't keep up with you. If you don't know what it is, I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count. I'd been able to get the clo0gs cleared but only after much plunging and water splashing and everything that goes along with it until I called my landlord's plumber. After looking over my collection, he said it was more a problem of not having the right plumber and using it correctly. This is the one he strongly recommended and told me how to use it: screw it on tight for the actual plunging and unscrew it a bit when cleared so what's inside of it can come out without a WHOOSH. It's easy to use and, following his directions, it's easy to clean. It's fairly durable (it's made by the same company that makes those giant accordion ones) and, so far, it works great. It's certainly cheaper than calling a plumber or replacing a toilet. He recommends it and so do I.

==============2024-6-5 UPDATE:Today this plunger failed to unclog a toilet clog that required a plumber. But it was still useful because I was able to use the plunger's bellows to SUCK UP the water in the toilet and dump it into a pail and then transport it to another working toilet for disposal. This is useful for preventing a toilet-overflow mess.==============This plunger fits into (and seals) the elongated opening at the bottom of our Kohler 14799-0 1.28 gpf toilet, enabling us to pump air into the toilet’s trapway in order to hydraulically unclog the toilet whenever it becomes clogged.I’ll update this review whenever a serious clog recurs.

Did not seal like it said it would. Toilet was plugged up, so I had to put the plunger in with the feces. Plunger of course sucked up the feces, and churned them up. Feces got all over the inside and outside of the plunger. If I thought about it before purchasing, I would have realized it there is no way this plunger would work, and if it did work it would create a nasty mess

Awesome plunger... I have 2 Caroma toilets that rarely clog but when do were impossible to unclog with a regular plunger because of design of bowl... this plunger worked like magic within 30 seconds.

This plunger does a great job in relieving clogs in a low flow toilet but beware that is needs to suck up water into the plunger first so you can agitate the clog. It fits well into the large opening though you may have to nudge it in past the opening you see and into where it narrows deeper in the drain. Start slow and increase velocity so you don't spray. DO NOT try to use this plunger like you would with traditional plungers unless you want a brown shower!

They switched out the toilet in my apartment to a low-flow one, and my old plunger did not work anymore. I bought this one and it works just fine. It is big and ugly though. AND if your toilet is really clogged, good chance you are going to have to clean this plunger in the tub and then clear the tub drain with it. because of the ridged design, toilet paper sticks to it like crazy.
