From the Marine Star Collection this two-tone yellow stainless steel features six-hand chronograph movement. Domed Mineral Crystal with blue dial with luminous hands and markers, and calendar feature, mineral crystal, fold-over buckle closure, and water resistance to 100 meters.
In 1875, a young Czech immigrant named Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, and a legendary American watch brand was born. Bulova was trained as a jeweler, and his expertise carried over into his watchmaking career, which began around 1911 with boudoir clocks and pocket watches, and soon evolved to include what was then one of the latest and most fashionable technological innovations: the wristwatch.
Bulova introduced its first line of wristwatches in 1919. The company grew and prospered, and soon early radio and television ads were declaring, "America runs on Bulova time." In the 1950s, continuing its legacy of innovation, Bulova introduced Accutron, the first electronic watch, and the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. The Accutron timing mechanism was later adapted for use by NASA computers and a Bulova timer was even placed on the moon to control transmissions of data. Bulova timepieces have kept official time aboard Air Force One and have also served as official timepieces for U.S. Olympic teams.
Today, Bulova maintains its tradition of excellence in technology and design, offering a diverse collection of beautiful precision timepieces for every occasion.
This is a great looking watch. It's both dressy and sporty, so you can wear it with casual or dress clothes. Like my other Marine Star, it's solid and fairly heavy. It feels like a quality time piece that could easily be worth several times its price. The gold on the band is slightly inset in a groove, so it's less likely come into contact with things and wear or scratch. Overall, the gold accents add a nice touch. The only thing I would advise is if you have small wrists, say 6" to 6-1/2", the band may be a bit large. The watch shop took out as many links as they could, but it still fits a tad loose for my liking (if my wrists were a bit larger it wouldn't be a problem). Ideally I should just change the band, but I like the watch the way it came.
Relógio bonito, bastante funcional, ótimo custo benefício.
This is a really nice looking watch that so far has keep perfect time. It fits nicely and is comfortable on the wrist.
muy bueno
Superb
What a watch looks like a £10K watch & is a great look on your rist & had it over a year now & now a scratch on it
While heavy (about 4 ounces or 113 grams), this is an impressive monster, surprisingly easy to set up. It looks big and heavy in my 7.5 inch-wrist, but at some point it disappears, so to speak, and I don't even feel it. The two-tone bracelet adds charm and elegance to this timepiece, which stays on time and performs flawlessly. One small thing: the bezel can be moved counter clockwise (it's not fixed) and at times it can be difficult to see the time because there's a big symphony of blue and gold in the dial. I like wearing it, though. A lot. One word of warning: this watch does NOT have the tuning fork symbol at the 12 o'clock position.
Bulova watch: nice, all of the dials work, incredibly accurate, waterproof, comfortable, looks great, band adjustable. I'm so used to making changes, this is worth the increased cost.... fantastic, gift idea......
I purchased this watch about 8 months ago in a batch of of about 13 different watches as a gift to myself. I was able to buy so many at a time because I originally had money saved to buy a Tag Heuer. I went with the less expensive watches and do not regret it. This one in particular the Marine Star is just a gorgeous watch. All the fuctionality you would expect from a much more expensive watch. I absolutely love this piece. A very ellegant time piece that has not lost any time in all the eight months I've owned it. I have a much more expensive Citizen Blue angel and a Casio Edifice that are radio updated that i keep all my others on time with. I haven't had to change my Marine Star yet. Highly recommend this watch as a purchase if you want a quality, elegant, timepiece that will be a favorite for years. Update March 2015: having so many wàtches I rotate thru them quite a bit. This is by far still a favorite. I still have not had to adjust the time on it. Just a really great buy. Listed right now for $360 on a major department store's site "on sale".
Just received my watch just a few hours ago. Took it to a jeweler to have the band adjusted and feels comfortable on my wrist. It is a beautiful watch but I have a few comments. Keep in mind that I have used my phone as a watch for about five years and was out of the habit of wearing a watch. Maybe that is why this watch feels so heavy, although if you look at the specifications it is listed at weighing 16 oz. (1 pound). Feels like an exercise weight on my wrist and I weigh 210 lbs and am 6 ft tall. The case is definitely not low profile, but again that is also listed in the specifications as being 12 mm thick. Again maybe this is so noticeable because I have been "sans watch" for so long.I was also surprised that the traditional second hand only moves when using the "chronograph" and the second hand is actually one of the smaller dials on the face. Maybe that is what most watches utilize, I am obviously not a watch aficionado.I read in a previous review that the hands were small but they blamed it on their "poor eyesight". The shiny borders on the small circles on the face of the watch do tend to hide the hands of the watch, depending on the time they are displaying. All and all this is a handsome timepiece and am pleased with the delivery and the price from Amazon. There were other sites selling the same watch for almost twice as much. On the way home from the band adjustment, I passed a billboard advertising a Rolex with the same color of face and the stainless band with gold highlights. From a strictly aesthetic and time keeping point of view, this is a damn good deal.Update: Less than one week later I am used to everything but the small hands on the watch, maybe if they painted them red or yellow would help, I have already had several comments on the watch while I am wearing it. It is a very nice looking watch and has kept perfect time.
This is great looking watch that keeps excellent time. The stopwatch function comes in handy at times and I love the 24 hour hand. Very useful when resetting the date so you can be sure to have it in the correct half of the day to set it.This watch however is not waterproof as stated. The crown does not screw in so there is no way it could keep the water out. I would not take it to the pool or even shower with it. It is misleading when it shows 100 meters and has a rotating bezel like a true dive watch has. Other than the water proof issue it's a great watch.
Couldn't be more pleased. This is a beautiful watch and is a quality timepiece. I'm glad Citizen bought Bulova and resurrected a great timepiece.
Muy bonito, el empaque un poco maltratado, pero la pieza excelente, a mi parecer, luce mejor en vivo que en las fotografías
