Darn Tough 1403-C-7023-07 Hiker Boot Midweight with Cushion Lime XX-Large
The only socks Ill ever need. I have 7 or 8 pairs and they are all I wear. Its truly disappointing when I have to wear a different pair of socks. Comfortable, warm in the winter and cool in the summer, keep my feet dry, and does a phenomenal job at preventing my shoes and boots from developing bad smells. Even after a 12 hour shift wearing these in my boots I can take them off and smell them and they smell fine. I dont know how it works but they are worth every penny. Been wearing them for 6-8 months washing after every use and they show no signs of wear; like new.
Absolutely the best socks you can buy. Yes, they are a little more expensive, but they are absolutely worth every penny.
I have purchased a few Darn Tough socks (leaving review on only one)... they are expensive as heck but so far despite washing them all 30+ times, the bottoms aren't wearing away like usual cotton socks. I don't know how long these things should last but they are trending to seem to last a lifetime at least in my use case. Maybe the elastic material inside of them will eventually degrade and give out if that's going to happen over time. ♂️In the time I have had all my Darn Tough socks, I would probably have gone through two iterations of replacing my cotton Gold Toe socks. What I mean to say is, up front they are pricey, but I am reaching the point of quality over quantity in terms of ROI. I still have what appears to be a lot more life in my Darn Tough socks still that justify their initial cost. They are thick on the bottoms, look well constructed, and are comfortable. Maybe a little on the tight size for their 'size'. Also maybe not suited for summer heat, but I endure.Do recommend giving them a trial/sample run if you are in a limbo state of trying to justify cost. I gave them a 'trial run' and am now ~12 pairs in on my 'trial'.
This is my 1st pair of Darn Tough Boot Socks. I already have two pair of the Crew Socks. They are not cheap $$, but you get what you pay for. The crew socks are great for my light hiking boots and approach shoes. The boot socks are a perfect fit for my 10" steel toed work boots. Padded in all the right places. What makes these socks a real winner though is the blend of materials they are made from. I can wear the socks in leather work boots and my feet stay dry at 90 Deg. temps. and warm at 10 Deg. temps all day. Neat color combinations too."Made in Vermont" on the tag has always been a symbol of quality to me as a Native Vermonter. Lately, it's been a bit over-used though and some products are just... meh? Darn Tough socks however are the kind of quality product that Vermonters can be proud of and I hope you guys and gals keep making them here for a long time. They are kind of like the Vermont equivalent of LL Bean's Maine Hiking Boot. Recommended!JimmyUpdate: Having used these socks for an extended period of time I am leaning strongly toward the boot socks vs. the crew for any boot 8" or taller. Having several inches of sock above the boot top helps you to keep them cinched up properly. The crew sock and an 8" boot (work boot, hiking boot) will leave you having to make more adjustments during the course of the day, whereas, the boot top size sock keeps them from diving down into the boot and everything seems to stay in-place.Great socks, I hardly wear my Thorlos anymore.
Justo como lo pedí. Gracias!
The sock is expensive but it’s the best socks I ever wore. It is thick but it keeps your feet warm and dry. For its thickness, it also does not cause your feet to sweat.
I absolutely love these socks. Bought a few pairs originally just to try them. Ended up ordering more than i needed because I love them. Day use for 12 hour days. They are amazing and comfortable.
Nice sock. Quality wool/knitting. Does not stay up. Certainly way overpriced. I'd say $17.00 USD, Max.
These socks are awesome. I've had a couple pair for over two years with no sign of wear. Great for hiking, and the lifetime guarantee is nice to have.
The XL large are advertised for sizes 12.5 - 14.5, I am a size 13, these sock very tight on me. They are probably more suited for a size 10.
The seller shipped these socks fast! The quality is very good but I wasn`t sure what size to order after reading some reviews.I wear a size 12 shoe and don`t like my socks short and tight on my feet , so I ordered the 12 1/2 to 14 size and they were a pretty nice fit on my feet and in my work boots. They sure are expensive though! And I am not sure what the warranty covers as far as a hole in the toes and so on.
These are my son favorite socks for long days walking. They are comfortable, wick the moisture and have held up for years. Just getting some new designs and colors!

Darn Tough aims to improve the well-being of our community by locally designing and manufacturing the most comfortable, durable, best fitting socks while continuously reducing our environmental impacts.
MATERIALS IN OUR SOCKS
Every material we use in our socks has been carefully chosen and tested to meet our rigorous durability standards. We currently use natural and synthetic fibers, and only 3 types of fiber per sock. As you’d expect, we are actively investigating and testing new fibers and yarn blends that do not appear in our current products. We’ve prioritized Merino wool throughout our product lines and our goal of producing the most responsibly made product is reflected in our commitment to the success of the Responsible Wool Standard.
Merino wool is the most important and relied upon fiber in our products and accounted for 56% of our yarn consumption by weight last year. For many years we’ve prioritized the use of Merino wool exclusively from sheep that have not been exposed to the practice of mulesing. In early 2019 we made a commitment to support the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and shift 100% of our wool supply to RWS-certified Merino wool.
RWS is a voluntary standard with strict guidelines to protect animal welfare and adhere to progressive, sustainable farm and land management practices while maintaining traceability throughout the entire supply chain.
Although the market share for RWS is only estimated at ~1% of global wool production, the number of certified sources has grown substantially over the last couple years. Today, 100% of the wool we procure is RWS-certified.
We use REPREVE, a nylon 6 fiber made from pre-consumer industrial waste that would otherwise be landfilled or downcycled. Using REPREVE instead of virgin nylon allows us to offset the use of crude oil, benzene, cyclohexane, and other harmful hydrocarbons that are involved in the production of virgin fiber. In short, using recycled nylon conserves energy and water and reduces greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing. While we aim to reduce our use of virgin nylon in our products, recycled nylon only accounted for 4% of our nylon consumption last year.
We’re actively working with our suppliers to source more recycled nylon so we can incorporate it across our product lines. To date, nylons generated from pre-consumer waste material have held up well against our durability requirements, but we’d like to find an equally good source of post-consumer recycled nylon or yarns that blend both pre and post-consumer nylon.
We use Lycra to provide elasticity, strength, and form-fitting comfort. While spandex accounts for no more than 5% of the fiber used in our finished product, it represented 27% of the raw materials we procured last year. Like conventional nylon, spandex is derived from petroleum and has been important to the performance of our products. Unfortunately, it’s the most difficult material in our fiber mix to replace with a recycled alternative.
When it comes to synthetics, we’re primarily focused on converting virgin nylon and polyester to recycled alternatives. However, we’re also looking for functional, recycled spandex alternatives.

We live and work in Northfield, Vermont. Our backyard is the perfect testing ground to make the finest Premium All Weather Performance Socks. We ski, snowboard, hike, bike and run in the most unforgiving climate in the lower 48. It is under these conditions that we design, test and manufacture our socks.
STILL MADE IN VERMONT, USA
After so many decades why do we still knit every pair of our socks here in Vermont? We don’t do it because it’s the easy thing to do—we do it because it’s the right thing to do. We do it because for us, it’s the only way to do it. There are faster and cheaper alternatives but nobody ever outsourced anything for quality.
