From avid anglers to weekend warriors, we all share the same goal – catch everything. From your rod and lure right down to your line, use the right gear to get the job done and maximize every day out on the water. Berkley® Trilene® Big Game™ was formulated to provide maximum durability and extreme fighting power for big game fish. This remarkably sturdy line is abrasion resistant and tough against rough or sharp objects. With outstanding knot and shock strength, the controlled stretch will give you the confidence and control required to reel in every monster you hook.
At Berkley, our process gives anglers the tools and confidence to catch more fish. Failing to catch fish is what motivates us to keep fishing, keep studying, and keep figuring out ways to make all our products the best on the market. Because of this commitment we can confidently say - We've done the science. Now you catch the fish.
Best line ive ever used 20 lb test is perfect for my catfish and bass poles
Just what I was looking for to make, quick delivery.
I hate in the fishing community that everybody thinks you need to buy the overpriced "leader" wrist spools to use with braided line. That is simply not the case. It's literally the same stuff just the leader claims to be more "abrasion resistant". I'm not believing that it's literally the same stuff as a spool of line. That being said, this works perfectly for me. It's very good quality and my line flys through the guide smoothly. It's super easy to cast and isn't overly visible. I've also never had it coil up on me. It's good to be able to replace long lengths of leader without being worried, knowing I'm not being ripped off for paying for "leader line"
This stuff is tougher than woodpecker lips. It's easy to tie knots for my terminal tackle and has enough give so that sudden strikes don't snap it.
I bought the 8lb green Berkley Big Game line and am really happy with it. I now use it on 2000 and a 2500 size shimano spinning reels. The Big Game 8lb really holds my knots good. No surprises so far. I use clinch knots with 5 turns or Uni-Knots. I pull kind of slow so the line stays strong and I don't lick my knots like a lot of people do. I also tie up "egg loop" style leaders on #8-#6 181 eagle claw or Owner #8 mosquito hooks. The green Big Game is easy enough to see when stringing up my rod or tying up rigs, but isn't so easy for me to see at a distance.I haven't had any tangles or problems with loops in the spool, but I'm very used to paying attention and I close the bail by hand and deliberately line up the line on the roller by habit. Online, some people gripe about it, but I think its pretty good. Go figure. Before approx 1980, line could go under the spool on my Abu C4 because the spools weren't skirted like now days, that's where i picked up the habit of watching my slack after casting, probably. So all in all, I really like this new discovery, I feel dumb for never trying Big Game 8lb before now.Old Guy Nostalgia starts here 8^\I started fishing by myself in 1969 when I was 8yrs old. I had a Berkley spin/fly i got at a garage sale for $1.75, it was green and 7' long. It had a tennesee handle with slip rings for the reel. There was a heart on my berkley reel, too. So I still like Berkley in a special way, you know? Specially pink Berkley Power Nymphs with 1/32oz jig heads. Or pre rigged grasshopper 1/32oz Atomic Power Tubes with a #7 split shot. Ya, Berkley makes it fun.
I have always liked big game line for the rugged lakes and rivers I fish in northern BC...I have tried the tough line, but no stretch and hard on fishing rods...
I’ve found over the years Berkley makes quality mono, never an issue.
Good Quality. Great Price!!
best you can buy
Exactly as expected. Great brand. Worked great. My husband loves this.
Great line I have used it before. You can't go wrong with any Berkley fishing line I have fished it for years no problems. Can't wait to get back out fishing.Amazon delivered on time.Keep the great work.
This is very good mono, strong ,and the pink floral virtually disappears in the water. The big game is above the lb test that’s listed. Plus the price is still great. I have used 8lb as leader in river for smallmouths and no issues ever.
loaded up well no problems. Super in the summer heat but has memory coils when cold. Still will use it as my main line on 8 reels
