Dating back to the colonial days, hot buttered rum has withstood the test of time. Collins' mix makes this beloved drink easy to recreate, just add rum and boiling water.
The lid was loose on the jar and spilled all of its contents inside the package getting on 5 other items. The batter smelled good, though. I ordered a replacement to try
Item arrived but the jar wasn't sealed. Nothing leaked thankfully but the top didn't 'pop' like it should have. The product inside was crusted to the sides of the jar. You can't pry it off with a knife. The middle was liquidy like honey. I stirred it but honestly I probably shouldn't eat it.I had high hopes for this as Butter Rum is delicious. I'm really disappointed in Collins for consistently mailing out a faulty product like this. 2/3 of the reviews are bad. I guess i should have listened.Amazon did refund my purchase thankfully. But i had to talk to a person to get that done as the automated return system wanted me to return the old product to an Amazon Counter at a Whole Foods. There isn't really one near me. So that wasn't gonna happen.Anyway. Live and learn and trust the reviews
This hot buttered rum mix serves as a great ingredient in warm alcoholic drinks when the weather gets colder. I especially like using it with more flavorful liquors, such as salted caramel whiskey, Baileys, and RumChata. It can also be good as an addition to hot cocoa. It's really easy to use. Combine the following:2 tbsp of Collins Hot Buttered Rum Mix1 1/2 oz of rum or whiskey8 oz of hot water (or milk/eggnog, if the liquor is creamy)And that's it!
This was shipped during some of the hottest days we've had this year. Temperatures reaching as high as 118 degrees. The mixture melted completely and leaked a little bit. When it cooled down and Re solidified it Had permanently. separated
This tastes the best and has no bio engineered ingredients. However sometimes the jar leaks a bit in transit
I prefer mine mixed with coffee
Crystallized in the jar, heated in boiling water and still crystallized. Flavor is ok but nothing special and I can see this being tossed out before being half used
My dad used to make me Hot Toddies when I was sick with a sore throat. I’ve sought to find something to replicate the Butter Rum Paste he used since he passed 10+ years ago. I took a chance on this and wha-la! It’s tasty, warm, and comforting. So simple to use. I suggest you try it too.
