08-03-2026Absolutely horrible! The Beef Sticks were mushy and had a strange flavor. A few years ago, I had some sticks that were similar in texture. Upon inspection, I found out that they were several months past the Due Date.

08-03-2026My son absolutely loved this re-usable container of sausages, He is a gamer, and loves to snack while playing. This is an easy choice as they are mess free, tasty and perfectly sized. The flavor was great and the chew are both just right. (He is a texture eater, and found these to be ideal for his palette.)You get 2 dozen smoky sticks in the container, and they are each individually packaged. ( so easy to put into a pocket or snack pack) The price was a nice find too, as they were reasonably priced for a protein snack.I will order these again, and will remember these for occasions like my Brothers and Brother in-laws Birthdays. They are the ideal "Guy" gift!

But, if you fry them in the pan a little, the flavor intensifies, and they taste delicious !If you are canning them, you need to know that all that great taste and flavor kind of disappears. Also, they taste better when eaten by themselves versus included as an ingredient in a dish.IF the manufacturer would drop the CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, SODIUM NITRATE and DEXTROSE from the ingredients these small sausages would deserve a 5+ star review.What's the real reason for adding these three ingredients ?

08-03-2026I am going to start off by saying that I am extremely impressed by this beef stick, it isn’t like other beef sticks on the market that are hard in texture and flavorless; this product is the absolute opposite of that! The price is terrific for the quality I have received and it tastes sooo good. It has a mild beef taste, not too salty, easy to bite into, and is the perfect portion size. My picture shows about a quarter of the actual size because I was so impressed with my first beef stick I had to make a review. I do not regret this purchase!

Our History
Over 50 years ago, we began more than a sausage company—we created a legacy that led to Sheboygan, Wisconsin, being known as the "Bratwurst Capital of the World." Sheboygan has always had a proud German heritage—people with a strong work ethic and a history of excellent sausage. Old Wisconsin is built on this foundation, and it can still be tasted today in our quality and slow, hand crafted approach to sausage making.
It All Started in 1942
Sheboygan was a natural place to start. The unique climate on the shores of Lake Michigan is perfect for sausage making. With that knowledge, Old Wisconsin began as Thielmann’s, a small sausage shop owned and operated by Frank Thielmann and William Stolzman. Even today, we still use many of their high-quality sausage recipes. Due to increased demand, we opened our first plant in 1953 and changed our name to Thielmann’s Old Wisconsin Sausage Company shortly after.
Reaching Our Full Potential
In 1976, the purchase of Sheboygan-based Rammer Sausage Company more than doubled our sausage production. Impressed by our quality, Carl Buddig, a family-owned meat processing company, purchased our company in 1981, expanding distribution and changing our name to Old Wisconsin Sausage Company. In 1996, we doubled our production again with a new state-of-the-art plant where we continue to make premium sausage. Today, our commitment to flavor and quality remains the cornerstone of our popularity at parties, on road trips and anywhere else you want Better Flavor, Naturally.
