08-03-2026I am using Peavey PVI100 mics at my Open Mic projects. I find they work provide a clarity and crispness that makes most performers sound just fine, and their switch is helpful in controlling feedback from the unused mics on stage. They have some problem with handling noise, so I must remember to shut them off before adjusting the mic stand. But their bang for the buck is so much more effective, and that is appreciated because Open Mics are ALWAYS a low budget operation.

08-03-2026I bought these to use as cheap beater mics for punk rock jam space. I was pleasantly surprised at how good they sound. They are a little "boxy" sounding as dynamic mics tend to be, but really cleaned up once I started using a better mic pre-amp setup. In fact we were using a Blue 100i mic side by side with these (the blue runs about $110 vs these which i got 2 for $22) and the differences were surprisingly small. The blue had better upper clarity for clear vocals, but for instruments I've started to actually prefer these Peavey mics, because they tend to record a warmer sound.These are great for the money.
