These glove are soft, comfortable, and are keeping my fingers warm in our low 20 degree weather. I like the magnetic closures on the thumb. And the fold down flap for the fingers, although it would be nice if they too had a magnetic closure. My thumbs still get a little cold, only because they are not close to the other fingers for bunch warmth. I think only a mitten would solve this.I purchased these for an upcoming photography trip to Homer, Alaska in March. The temps shouldn't be too much colder than what we've been experiencing in Colorado this winter, so I think they'll be ok.But, I like that there is a little pouch on the top of the gloves that I can insert a battery powered hand warmer if needed.
I have Raynaud's syndrome and my hands are always freezing, so I am somewhat of a glove and mitten connoisseur. I'm a runner and spend a lot of time outside, and these gloves are my favorite. I wear them at least half of the year.I struggle with a lot of "touchscreen" gloves, and this model makes it handy to just flip the thumb off to use your phone. The magnet and the little pocket keep the various parts in place. The reflective strip is great. I LOVE the little clips that come with it to keep the mittens together. I've worn my pair regularly for over three years and I haven't lost them, which is a miracle. I wear them at every race and I recommend them to the runners I know.I was especially appreciative of these gloves during a recent marathon. I actually thought that they wouldn't be warm enough, but they were! I kept them on the whole time, but my hands warmed up and I was able to cool off by folding back the mittens.I live in the Pacific Northwest where the weather is mild and rainy and I don't encounter snow or ice all that often. I mention this because while these mittens are warm, they are probably not the best for extreme winter weather. That said, they are perfect for what I want and need.Pros:*The clip that holds them together. Genius!*The magnet that holds the thumb piece back*Easy to flip the mitten part back and forth.*Easy phone access if necessaryCons:*Could be warmer for snowy weather, but honestly it would be better if they made a separate model just like this but thicker. I like these the way they are!
Top in Funktion und angenehm zu tragen. Wir nutzen sie für Spaziergänge mit dem Hund. Superpraktisch!
These are just what I have been looking for. Very well made, care and thought in the small detail, such as fluorescent fabric on the little side tabs. Mitten part tucks into fluorescent strip on the back of the hsnd, little magnets to hold the thumbs back. Thin and flexible, but very warm. The only down side is the sizing. I am a size 6.5, and they fit ok for small / medium, but could be improved by having individual sizes.
I really like how the gloves let you take the fingers and thumbs off. The magnet for the thunbs is a great idea. I live in canada (Winnipeg) though and they will nit be warm enough for our winters. I will need warmer mitts when it gets below -15c (5 F). But they are great for spring and fall! Highly recomend!!
El calor que confortan y su manejo a la hora de trabajar con ellos.
I love everything about these convertible mittens, except for the lack of warmth which was the primary reason I bought them.Over the past week I've had various conditions under which to test them out. On two days the windchill was under 30 degrees. During wind gusts, the wind came right through the top part of the mitten. My finger tips were uncomfortably cold and so cold that I could not operate the touchscreen of my mobile phone. If there were just one more layer in the top part of the mittens I think they'd be fine for colder weather - though I don't know if they'd make it to the 20 degrees claimed.Yesterday the windchill was in the upper 30s and they were great. I love the way they fit, the flexibility they give me, and the lack of bulkiness. Even though they don't solve my winter need, I like them so much I may still keep them despite the price. I've still got time to decide as they are returnable for another few weeks.
I bought them for walking the dog, and they’re perfect for that. Here’s what’s great:WARMMy hands are always cold, and my fingers are usually impossible to keep warm. I had low expectations, but these do a great job.Super-scientific proof: I keep one index finger and thumb free to grab treats from my pocket. The dog is a puppy, and walks are great for training, which means he’s fleecing me for a treat every few yards. That finger and thumb will be painfully cold, but the ones that are covered are not. They’re not ski mittens. When we were out for an hour in 25 degree (F) air, my thumbs and fingertips were starting to get cold when I get home. But not painfully so.Also, those disposable hand warmers fit great in the fingertip covers, and the fabric is stretchy enough to keep them in place even when I need to uncover my fingertips to tie a bag. With temps in the mid 30s, my hands have actually stayed pretty comfortable for the whole walk, which is usually an hour, and not particularly fast-paced, because...five month old sheepdog puppy.DESIGNI LOVE the magnet on the thumb cover, and the pocket for tucking the finger cover is manageable without uncovering the other fingers.I’ve had convertible glove/mittens before, and the thumb and the mechanism is usually a button, which requires uncovering the other hand, or Velcro, which snags everything.(My one wish? I wish there were a magnet for the finger covers, too. But the pocket works great and keeps the finger cover out of the way perfectly.)Also, there isn’t a gap on the inside of the thumb when my thumbs are covered, which is a problem with so many others.FABRICIs the right mix of soft and (seemingly, at least) durable. The outside is a smooth-finished fabric, so it’s not getting fuzzy from the aforementioned frequent trips to my pocket. They’ve been washed a couple of times, too, and don’t show it.I’m ordering another pair, because the way my luck goes, I won’t be able to find them when I need them eventually.FITThis might be a negative for someone else, but I have small hands (ring size of 4.5) and mittens and gloves are usually so enormous on me that I have no dexterity. No such problem here. (I ordered the smallest size available.)

TrailHeads Co-Founders
Blazing our own trail since 2002We’re a small, family business based in Kent, CT.
Back when we first launched, we worked out of a one bedroom apartment and we sold a handful of styles almost exclusively to running specialty retailers in the northeast.
Since that time, our team, product line and reach have grown considerably. We now work out of a small farmhouse in Kent, CT, located a short warm-up jog from the Appalachian Trail -- our “go to” testing ground for the cool gear we design.
We’re passionate about the innovative styles we design and driven by an unwavering commitment to comfort, performance, fit and style.
