Loved the coat, but it runs really big. The leather is exquisite: soft and light. I just bought a bomber jacket from Reed and it was noticeably heavier (in weight) even though it was lighter in terms of warmth.I returned the one I bought and ordered the same item in a smaller size. The coat is long on me, but I'm only 5'3" so I'm used to that. The drawstrings did hang down several inches below the coat, which has nothing to do with my height. I posted a question about that, and Reed replied almost instantly. I called them, as requested, and they made a simple but effective suggestion: tie knots in the cord.

I purchased this coat after searching extensively for a longer length leather coat. This was a beautiful coat, felt great, fit great, and looked great. So why am I giving it only 2 stars? Well for $400.00 I would expect the hardware (i.e. snaps and zippers) to be the same quality as the rest of the coat. Unfortunately this was not the case, after only having the coat for a handful of days (less than 1 week) one of the snaps on the sleeve cuffs broke. I was extremely disappointed, I really loved this coat for the short time that I had it. I thought about exchanging for the same coat but I am concerned about the quality of the snaps, fortunately my issue occurred within the return period and not on day 31+. I really wish the manufacturer put more thought into the quality of the snaps and zippers. If not for this issue I would definitely give 5 stars. I guess my search continues...

Extremely pleased with this soft leather coat! A special note to future possible buyers of this particular coat. I normally wear a large in coats, however this super nice coat runs on the ‘oversized’ fit. So, the medium size was a perfect fit for me. The quality is impeccable so order yourself one today with no regrets.

What a great coat. Look at the shoulder and how the arm is attached. Where most coats have a seem( a ripping point) this coat is built so the arm seem is all the way to the collar. The zipper is quality and also has a flap over the top of it. I got a lamb skin leather, it is soft and supple. I would recommend buying this coat. You will look great in it. 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Six years on and I still love this jacket. Mine does not have a zip out lining. It’s warm, durable and fits well. Heavy duty zipper never gives me any trouble. Excellent value!

Second season update: Sorry to report that lightweight = low quality. This jacket ripped on me, a two-inch right-angle tear in the front shoulder. No idea how it happened. Anyway, I'm back to my 10-year old vintage jacket. A 10-year old jacket of good quality proves to be a better value than a brand new jacket of low quality. Also, I can report that the black leather coloring is susceptible to fading. Again, my 10-year old jacket still looks deep black, while this new one looks like it could use a good 'polishing'.Sorry, I cannot recommend this jacket. Buyer beware.-----------------------I've been wearing this coat for about a week now. The true test of a quality leather jacket is how it wears 5 - 10 years post purchase. (Not exaggerating - my last coat lasted me about 10 years and I just traded it in for this one.) So these are my initial impressions.First of all, Reed's size Small is going to correspond to other manufacturers' size Medium. The merchant is responsive. I sent them key measurements of my existing Medium size jacket (across the chest, arm length and length from collar to hem). They told me to order their size Small which I did and it fits. I was hoping for a slightly longer length, but what I received in size Small is exactly 32 inches, the same as my original coat. What I like about this coat - nice quality leather, lightweight, zip out lining, clips - not buttons - along front closure and cuffs, diagonal slash pockets, two inside pockets with slits in the zip out lining so they are accessible. It is roomy enough to fit over a suit jacket so this works well for me for business purposes. What I don't like so much - hardware (snaps, drawstring, clips, zipper) is minimalist - thinner, lighter, shorter - than my existing coat. That's probably a sign of the times - they don't make 'em like they used to! On the other hand, this probably contributes to the fact that this coat is lighter than my old coat, and I do appreciate this. I do like the diagonal slash pockets, but there are no other outside pockets aside from these. They get kind of crowded when you try to keep keys, gloves and a scarf in there. (I usually slip my scarf into my sleeve, when I'm not wearing the coat, but if I want somewhere to put my scarf when I am still wearing the coat, it's tough to get everything jammed in to just two pockets.)Bottom line - I like it! I hope it will last me a nice long time.

My wife thinks this jacket looks bulky. I'm not a big guy, so I consider this a feature, not a bug.The jacket has big, deep pockets. I often wear two pair of gloves and carry a hat, so that's great. The interior pockets are large as well. The removable liner makes the jacket more versatile in terms of what temperatures you can wear it in. The liner does make access to the interior pockets a bit awkward, though. -- Be careful, you might think you are dropping something into a pocket when you are actually dropping it between the jacket and the zip-out liner -- and onto the floor. The leather itself could not be softer. No data yet on how the finish hold up over time and in bad weather. I noted that it fits as expected. That's true, but barely. I think it runs a bit on the large side. I _probably_ could have sized down. If you are on the fence between sizes, the smaller size will probably be right.edit -- I ended up sending the coat back for the next smaller size. The company told me they'd either exchange for a smaller size or tailor the original one. The smaller size does fit much better. I did send some measurements to a company rep in an email exchange. Contacting the company pre-sale might be the way to go to ensure proper fit.
