This is an awesome product for those looking for a recessed media box. I ordered several different models, including $100+ metal versions from Crutchfield and B&H, yet this version met all my requirements. I wanted at least two openings capable of holding surge protected power outlets (duplex gang) for my TV, Soundbar, and fire stick. This worked the best, and was super easy for my electrician to install. I can’t emphasize enough though the importance of using surge suppressor outlets to protect your electronics. They cost approximately $15 off Amazon for the Leviton models, and really make for a great recessed media box.
This worked perfectly for my new bathroom vanity with built in outlets. I needed an outlet that I could wrap excess cord from and so it could fit nice and flat against the wall. This product did the trick for my application needed!
Item itself it decent, and would have given 5 stars. However the Receptacle Mounting Bracket was missing. The instructions clearly state to contact the vendors customer service for parts issues and Amazon directs you to contact their customer service as well when trying to exchange/return. The response from their customer service, in email, was sarcastic and dismissive and directed me back to Amazon. I’ll exchange and hope the next one has all the parts. It’s not that hard to write a professional response in this instance.
Not something that I expected. Also the size mentioned in the description is not the actual size of the productsWhen I received it tried to my drywall the quality of it is not worth money spend.
Easy to install. Very good quality. I especially like the fact that there are access ports on all sides for maximum flexibility.
This is the second one of these I have installed and like their product. The way they do the install in an existing situation is well thought out finishes nicely. The box gives you lots of room for your connections and allows the tv to get as close to the wall as your bracket allows. NOTE: If your bracket ends up "crossing over" this box (poor planning on my part) be aware that the trim, which is needed to help secure the box, is not flush against the wall. The trim sticks out maybe 1/4 of an inch and if your bracket has a wide bar that normally is flush against the wall you will have a problem. I solved it by simply putting four 1 1/2" fender washers between the wall and the bracket and ran the lad screws through them to bring the bracket1/4" or so from the wall. Cost me $6 on Amazon and probably could have been avoided if I had done a little better planning.
Solid! Did the job!
High quality and easy to install. Love the different use options.
Let me flush mount a tv on a narrow old plaster wall. No other product would have done it. But the engineering was good, too. Nice clips, good hole location and design, flexible mount for new or old work.I like a company that just makes smart things that solve problems. If you have a narrow wall get it!
Great box to hide gear in the wall. I used this box in my home theater room. I have a wired VR headset with an extension box. I ran the wire to this box and plugged it into the extension box of my headset. I also purchased the cover for this box. I drilled a hole in the cover, installed a gromet and painted it to match my wall. Works great.
Lo recomiendan para TV The Frame PERO la caja en donde se conecta todo que viene con la TV no cabe... tuvimos que hacer un hoyo más grande en la tabla roca :(
Product cheaply made. Falls apart easily. Has no mounting plates for stud walls. Only has clips to connect to drywall. Definitely something that will not pass inspection in its current installation format. Had to modify box to attach to studs.
The negatives I experienced first, which many other reviews have noted:1) The instructions tell you to cut a hole that's a bit too big. Once you clamp it in place with the gasket, it will work out OK most likely, but the manufacturer would do better to include a paper hole cutting template to make it possible to get it snug the first time.2) The screw holes are molded too small, so screwing in wall mount plates to the interior is quite difficult, and I was afraid I'd strip a screw or break a screw. No fun at all.The positives:1) It's capacious, and you will probably be able to fit everything you need into the box. I put electrical, two Cat6 networks jacks, a coax antenna jack, and four HDMI via the passthrough. I could probably fit a small Roku or Fire TV in as well, although I did not try that.2) With my stud locations one of the plates was blocked from easy access, but because the openings come in from all sides, rotation was able to make things work out. It's a very flexible box, and it covers a whole bunch of potential applications. So, given that the pain is a single time and it's now safely behind my TV mount, I'm satisfied.
