Oh Boy! Oberto Classics Thin Style Original Beef Jerky provides the timeless flavor and chewing experience that’s made it the favorite jerky of the Pacific Northwest. Low in carbohydrates, high in protein (14g per 1 oz serving), and low in fat, Oh Boy! Oberto Classics Thin Style Original Beef Jerky is the perfect snack for you.
Good quality! Like the jerky being thin cut! Price is a little steep! But I’ve always loved this jerky. I used to purchase it in the stores all the time! They quit selling it in the stores except for the large packages with much thicker cut!
I eat and sample a lot of jerky, most of it is junk. Too soft generic garbage seems to be the common formula for most. I mean Jack Links?! That stuff is closer to a dog treat than something a person should consider a meat snack, certainly not eatable. I definitely also have a preference towards cowboy dry versus all this wet soft stuff. What makes this Oh Boy Oberto so good? Super thin cut and not chewy soft, but also not so dry it turns into dust. The thin slices mean you can down these at breakneck speed without getting a toothache. Not quite dry dusty cowboy dry, but just enough you could carry a bag off into the sunset and feel worthy. Wholesome and hardy, the way it should be. Not overly salty, not too bland. The peppered isn't really hot, but has a nice flavor with a bit more zing versus the original. Pricing is decent as most jerky prices have nearly doubled over the years. Delicious.
The best peppered beef jerky I can find. Been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. Just wish it was cheaper so I could order more often!!
I have loved Oberto's beef jerky since my early childhood. I despaired when they came out with their new "original" recipe as I loved this original thin style. Other beef jerkies are good, but no-one beats the flavor profile of this timeless classic.Update 8/6/21 - Changing my review to 3 stars now. I still like their jerky more than others but most of the 7 oz packages I've gotten lately have not been up to the same standard as they were before. It's not as thin or as dry as it's supposed to be. Some big pieces are thick and moist, which is NOT what I look for in their Thin Style Original. I'm not even sure if it's still good as I can't find an expiration date on the package itself. The coloring is all wrong, mostly a lighter brown now than the dark, rich brown it used to be. I might flip to the smaller 1.2 oz size, but the cost difference is astronomical (almost 3x as much per volume). Might be time to end my monthy delivery.
I hope this flavor and style sticks round. It is such a treat to have the old school Oberto!! Love it!
This jerky is great just like I remember it, I can't find the thin one at the grocery stores anymore, thank God for Amazon
Being from Seattle I grew up on this thin stuff and still today it never disappoints. The only down side is there so hard to find in this flavor now days and I they’d sell em in the larger single 7oz bags.
I won’t be ordering this again. It’s disappointing because I used to love it so much. It’s difficult to find in stores, so when I saw it on Amazon, I was so excited. I’ve been buying this since 2018 & never did I ever receive a bag with mold in it. For years I always received bags of fresh and delicious beef jerky. It After a few years I noticed that the beef jerky was getting harder & tasted stale. I thought maybe I had just gotten a couple of bad batches, and was willing to look past it. Then came the day when I received several bags of beef jerky COMPLETELY covered in mold! I couldn’t believe it. Even more disturbing is the fact that you could clearly see it was beyond spoiled, and yet somehow, the person who packaged my order thought nothing of sending rotten food after taking my money. That’s unacceptable & disgusting.
