I am fiercely opposed to factory farming. Because, I will not eat misery. For this reason, I’ve been a vegetarian for years. A health condition caused severe blood loss. Doctors asked me to please eat beef for a while, so my body would have greater opportunity to replace the blood that I had lost. I was grateful to find this product. It tastes great. When I eat this, I don’t believe I’m eating misery, and it helps my body heal. Thank you.
I bought several brands of meat sticks. This one has the best ingredients combined with a very good taste. Other brands had maltodextrin... which causes blood sugar spikes for me. All meat can be grass fed, but at least these are pasture raised. I have yet to find 100% grass fed or "grass finished " in a decent price range. For now subscribe to two of their flavors... original & jalapeño.
Tastes expired upon arrival and cannot read expiry date on packaging. Will not buy again and will look to return all.
I’ll address the product, the complaints, and the company ethic:1) The PRODUCT is excellent. Since starting CrossFit, I’ve tried numerous beef sticks while attempting a keto diet. I won’t list them all, but this is very close to fresh seasoned beef. The flavor is salt and pepper with slight hints of garlic. The jalapeño beef sticks have chunks of jalapeño in them. The casing isn’t too stiff, and the inside ground meat is soft. If Slim Jims are the Diet Coke of snacks, this is probably the kale smoothie; it does taste healthy, and lacks the processed flavor. If you prefer sugared, seasoned snacks, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere. If you were to grind and case meat at home, it would likely come out very close. All the flavors are great, but I think I lean toward the jalapeño and turkey sticks. Among the competitors (such as Epic), I’ll probably stick primarily to Mission Meats.2) I read COMPLAINTS about mold and compromised packaging. Out of 3 lots, I’ve not seen this. However, I have seen it happen with soup delivered from Amazon. This is a potential issue with how the food was stored (was it left in the blazing sun on a palette?). This has also happened to 2 of 3 boxes of jack links from Walmart. If you do get a spoiled product, contact the company.3) The COMPANY is admirable. I had an underweight bar arrive in my sampler and contacted them with a pic. A rep responded immediately, wanting to know lot number so this could be addressed on their end, then offered additional product. There was even a follow-up after product arrival. There was no promise of review (here or elsewhere), but rather feedback on their quality. Conclusion: it is a great product if you want healthier protein snacks. If you do somehow get something spoiled, the company will stand behind their quality and make it right. This is a smaller company intent on developing a good product and reputation. I would recommend!
Disgusting.. It is as far as can be from beef jerky. The taste and the texture are horrific.
RECEIVED ONLY ONE PIECE.
I have tried several different brands of beef and turkey sticks purchased on Amazon. I generally prefer the beef. I have only tried these Mission Meats beef for the first time less than a week ago. I found the packaging to be my biggest issue. So hard to open that even using scissors to open the top fights with the plastic too.Once I get into them, a half hour later - lol! The taste was fine and lightly flavored, the texture even through the casing was okay. This is my first order comparing to the other ones that are so far my favorites on Amazon. I will probably not order these again because they do not beat out PaleoValley for their beef sticks’ packaging quality among the great flavor and texture. They have turkey too, but I have not tried those from PV.For other brands, I tried:1) The New Primal Beef Stick: Those were pretty good but the packaging is again an issue. I hate it when it takes forever to open them. The taste is mild, texture is soft but not mushy, easy to bite into. Same with the PaleoValley, but Mission and New Primal does not have as good of a smoke flavor as PaleoValley. I MAY order these again or not, after I see what the rest of the sticks are like to open and taste.2) The New Primal Turkey Stick - Cilantro Lime. OMG! These tastes like fresh uncooked turkey with ground up feathers, not much cilantro lime flavor to cover the awful turkey feathers taste! Definitely won’t be buying these again!3) Vermont - Sample Pack; Beef still favorite but pepperoni is pretty good and will not try jalapeño anything. Packaging easy to open. No challenges. Taste is good, medium flavored, not too strong and texture chewy but not greasy. Would order again.4) Lorissa’s kitchen - Original Beef; Easy enough to open, mild flavor, good texture. Still does not beat out PaleoValley. Will most likely not order again.5) Sogo Beef sticks- Not much challenge to open these. They have a good medium spice flavor but seem thinner than other brands. Not greasy. Texture with casing is medium, easy to bite into. Stick is solid but not soft to bite into. They seemed chewier. I may order these again, but they still don’t beat out PV. These ARE grass fed.5) SweetWood- FATTY -Variety Pack and regular original FATTY beef sticks-I like the smoky meatiness of these and the kick the variety had, but I gave the jalapeño one away. No challenge to open these, the flavor is good, texture is chewy with the casing, they are shorter and fatter sticks; They are my second favorite to PV.6) SweetWood - Bully Bars - Original Beef - Good flavor but hard for me to bite into and chew. Medium flavor and very chewy texture. Easy to open package. Probably won’t order again. Does not beat out PV.Lastly, on a positive note about Mission Meats, my package did not have any mold on any sticks, but packaging for customer’s consumption could use better quality control. And there are people out there who have difficulty with their hand mobility.Paleo Valley beef stick, summer sausage stick, and turkey (I presume),make their products so tastey and with this in mind.
Great snack on the go. Clean ingredients as well.
Not bad, but not worth the money.
Soft, perfect amount of spice, great flavor but just a bit too salty for my personal preference.
Great product. Slow delivery.
