MalloMe Camping Cookware Mess Kit for Backpacking Gear – Camping Cooking Set - Camping Pots and Pans Set - Backpacking Stove / Portable Stove Compatible - Camp Kitchen Equipment Accessories Pot
While these work just fine, they do have some minor issues. You get what you pay for, of course, but the scrub brush started separating a bit after a single camping trip. The pot is thin and cooks fast even over low heat at times. Which is good if you want to rocket something up to temp. Our portable stove at the lowest setting was getting some things burning to the pan or bubbling pretty rapidly. Cook all the time on a gas stove at home and camping, but didn't want to lug the ancient Coleman liquid fuel behemoth on a river trip.So the pan was more the issue. The largest pot works well for boiling water fast and heating up soups/liquid dishes. However, when the pot is resting on a surface while empty, it won't stand flat. The handled, when extended, makes it fall over. So as long as you keep stuff in it, or eat out of it directly, it will be fine. When you are serving from it or trying to set it down to add things to it, then it will tip over toward the handle or tumble off the stove. The wooden spoon that came with it is alright, and probably would've preferred some sort of attachment to make the handle longer on it.Using this solo, you'd probably be alright. I'd go bigger and probably a fancier kit if you wanted to do something for 2-4 people. We purchased other dishes separate and it worked out okay, but having a larger kit that stacks together a few serving dishes with the pot would be much nicer. The pan is not wide enough to fry up things with ease. I took along a cast iron pan at the last minute with a lot of added weight, because I realized cooking eggs and bacon for 3 people in this thing wasn't going to be fun.Manage your expectations.
I am a retired US Army NCO who is more than 70 years old, lives in New Mexico and loves to hike and camp. At my age, I'm always on the lookout for good lightweight kit. I do not submit reviews until I've used the item. My experience with this little kit was very good. The kit comes with a little fry pan and a little sauce pan that nest into each other. There is a terrific little carved bamboo stir spoon a couple of plastic little bowls or cups a little folding ladle, a sauce pan cover and I got a Prime Day Special extra addition; a nifty little metal folding spork. In addition to all of this, it has a nice little cloth sack with a nicely made plastic closure to hold the little kit nice and snug together when it is stuffed in my ruck sack.I washed it all up, stuffed in an extra pair of socks and a couple of bandana handkerchiefs so it did not rattle (an old army habit).I usually bring a little grub for the trip; a couple of hard boiled eggs, some hard tack, some precooked brown rice with peas and carrots and corn kernels and an apple or two; along with some dark roasted coffee beans. I set up camp after a few hours out. my tiny camp stove heated up and this terrific little kit did everything it was supposed to do. The coffee beans heated up great and the coffee was great. This little kit did exactly what it was supposed to do, it is light and strong, well made and I expect that it will provide me with hot meals out on the backside of the high dessert for years to come. I bought this thing sight unseen and hoped for the best: I got the best.If you come to the New Mexico high dessert, you will see the stars as GOD intended you to see them. Boil up some coffee and when you see the Milky Way, you will feel as if you could reach up and touch the face of GOD.Come and camp in New Mexico for your next vacation; and bring along this little MalloMe Mess Kit. You will never regret the journey or the purchase of this little kit.Signed,Frank
Great value cookware set. Compact, and great for backpacking and camping
Me gusta mucho
Added this to my Glamping cooking gear. Nice compact nonstick set. I can see why backpackers like it so much. Lightweight. Well made and seems durable. I use a Kelly Kettle to boil water fast. This will compliment it's Hobo stove.
Nice product easy to clean light to carry really suitable for only one adult meal 2 at a push if smaller appetite
Heb het nog niet gebruikt maar het ziet er best degelijk uit. Handig, praktisch, compleet, licht. Voor die prijs een goede koop lijkt me.
Mess kit is as expected. We are using it for camping and it is light, durable, and compact.
Tester en condition réelle (sortie Bushcraft),Taille largement suffisante pour deux,Bon épaisseur, pratique, solide, se nettoie facilement après usage.Très bon rapport qualité prix,Conforme en tout points a la description.Je recommande vivement ce produit
I got this wanting a compact and light weight mess kit for biketouring. There is a nice assortment of items but nothing extravagant, but then, that's not the point. It has all of the space for cooking you need as a solo backpacker or bike tourer. I can't speak to the long-term durability yet since I've only used it for some test cooks. Once I have been able to really put it to the test with an extended bike tour I will update my review. As of right now, I'm really happy with this, especially for the price
Compact and well packaged. I haven't had an opportunity to use it but soon.
These pans are very small they're to put in a knapsack. They're very well made should be easy to use and easy to clean but I bought them for the size and they're exactly what I wanted they're nice and light. I would buy them again
