Just pressed steel not really useful for anything other than…removing a lightweight fish hook.
Very good quality for the price
I purchased this Hook removal tool while I was in the process of setting up my new Tackle Bag and needed a tool that would make removing hooks safer and easier, while most circumstances a hook can removed easily with your hand, some require a bit more leverage, this came in handy while attempting to remove a Hook from a Puffer Fish as I didn't really wish to lose a finger and ruin a good day out on the Boat, its simple and functional, highly recommended.
The product as far as it's construction is fair but the jaws do not meet well at all there is far too much play in the pivot points. For what I bought them for they will work just fine but for getting a hook out of a sharp toothed garfish or pike or a shark I would invest more to save my fingers.
Only complaint is they don't float have lost a couple overboard. My pair pictured won't be lost!overboard (with my added float : )Invaluable especially with large mouth fish that swallow hook. Allows for quick quick release of fish with minimal damage to mouth. Can't recommend this product enough.
I am the queen of finding alternate use for things. :-) While I already had one of these grippers in my fishing tackle box, I decided I needed a safe way to pull things out of the garbage disposal. I put some lemon peels down to freshen the smell and they didn't grind all the way. Fishing them out with a knife was not fun and I wasn't putting my fingers down there. Now I can easily grab debris and also use the pliers to have a firm grip on scrubbie material to clean the goop that inevitably accumulates on the bottom. Disposal problems solved!
Bought these for my 10 year old who has a hard time dehooking a fish. Good quality, and work as advertised.
Doesn't every fisherman hate when the fish swallows the hook or you miss setting the hook and it goes way deep inside of the fish. This hook removal tool has a nice reach to go inside of the fish and get the hook out. I have used it a couple times now when I am bait fishing for striped bass and they swallow the bait before I get a chance to set the hook. The tool goes right inside of the fish and you can grab onto the hook with ease and remove it without damaging the fish. I would strongly recommend this tool to anyone that bait fishes to help save more fish and do less damage removing the hook. This tool also works great on removing the hook from fish that have teeth. You don't need to get your fingers close to the fish and worry about it biting you. I have used it to remove the hook from a couple blue fish.I think this is a great tool for all fisherman and would strongly recommend it to everyone i don't know how i have gone so long without one of these. I received this product at a discounted rate for an unbiased and honest review.
These were purchased to weed around inground cacti and succulents, where fingers will pick up spines or do damages. They do work, but perform better if the weeds or grass are allowed to get a bit larger so there's more to grip. The tip can do shallow digging to better reach roots. They won't remove a mature dandelion, but will get one a few weeks old. They also can be used for removing leaf debris from spiney plants, though I prefer aquarium tweezers with the bent ends for that job.
