08-03-2026I agree that you should definitely order the next larger size which was an XL for me so take my "fit as expected" with that caveat. That doesn't mean that this crew neck T is somehow an inferior product. For anyone that wants to complain about shrinkage, I would point out the T's I bought at a local brick and mortar store (I'm sure you have an idea who I'm talking about) that were of lesser quality and weight in one instance shrunk from an extra large to small after one washing (a bit of a shock to the system when I pulled them out from the dryer but at least the dog now has a new outfit to protect him from the sun after a little tailoring). Anything cotton will shrink and even with much more expensive clothing, the so-called standardized sizes are hardly "standardized." I typically move between large and extra-large sizes depending on the manufacturer. Here, these are the best-made substantial T-shirts I have ever purchased. They are light enough to wear in the summer to cover up from the sun and I don't look stupid wearing them (with the understanding I am comfortable with sweats in the gym and prefer heat to cold) and are substantial enough to wear under a jacket during the spring and fall, allowing free movement without feeling like a stuffed turkey. It's the perfect "layer" for me, hence the 3-seasons. I've been less than comfortable with many of the lightweight knits that are too fragile to wash without losing their shape and are unable absorb at least some sweat along with paper-thin T's which make me itchy. I like the fact they are cuffed with a long tail (I'm 5' 10" 190 lbs) and that they wash well. I've ordered 3 of these so far; all have had consistently good construction. The only complaint I have and don't know where the blame lies in the distribution chain for this product but do better stock replenishment. It is irritating when you finally decide on a product you really want/like and are constantly greeted by an out-of-stock notice. Update: I've ordered a couple more of these Ts. I can pay the same price for a pullover casual top at Walmart and the quality doesn't compare...a huge difference. This is where Amazon shines in terms of giving you better options. Again, order one size larger and wash in cold water. I put mine in a dryer and it comes out perfect for my size.

08-03-2026Reviewing the XL size (which seems to only come in "XL Tall").... I'm 6 feet tall, body type is "waist narrower than chest/shoulders", and I write from that perspective. (Larger-waisted men will like this shirt better than I do). But first, I'll say that for the low price of ten bucks this is a very good useful shirt with thick cotton and feels good after the first wash. It just does not hang right, but what can you expect for ten bucks? Go to a surf shop and buy an (ugh!!) logo T-Shirt for which you will pay (ugh!) 25-35 dollars.About this shirt's fit: I love the snug fitting neck. I wish all shirts had a neck this snug, so if that's not your thing, you won't like this shirt.I love the roomy-ness of the shoulders, comfortable... AND if the chest and waist areas were more snug (not tight, just a bit more tailored) then I would want to wear this shirt when I go out. Unfortunately the fabric hangs weirdly off the neck, there are unavoidable folds in the wrong places that hang at diagonals from toward the center of the neck, downward at a 45 degree angle or so. This is NEVER going to be a "fashion" shirt so if you want a shirt that flatters your body... look elsewhere. But it's COMFORTABLE.The waist and chest are "roomy" -- typical American fit, on the "OK possible to wear it" side and NOT billowy. The shirt arrived very (too) long way below the belt) but that shrunk up nicely after first wash and hot dry.If you are a guy with a large waist then I think you are going to have trouble with the tightness of the neck. But if you like a nice snug neck fit, trust that this will stretch out over time... as all cotton T-Shirts seem to do after a few washes, especially ones that cost only ten bucks!!But you'll LOVE the looser fit from the chest down, that is, if you are an "L" or an "XL" guy and not an "XXL" guy.The biggest plus of this shirt is the thickness of the cotton. Maybe if ironed, the needless folds running diagonally off the neck will not look so wrong.
