Hooks mainly consist of high carbon steel. After tempering, steel is subject to hydrogen absorption. During tempering and heat treatment, as well as during the surface treatment process, steps are taken to prevent this.

08-03-2026I like these inline hooks, they are perfect for putting on saltwater lures, replacing the treble hooks.. My question is, though, why was this transaction for one packet of five hooks over $9, when these packets sell (Prime) for $5.61 each?! Maybe I missed something, but it feels like I've been taken advantage of. I just ordered more sets of the exact same thing, and I mean exact, at the Prime $5.61, but looking back at my orders, somehow paid over $9 for this order of one pack. Again, love the hooks.. I hope to have them on all the saltwater hard lures in my tackle bag, easier on the fish (especially if you're catching and releasing), doesn't snag, and less chance you'll hook yourself, too.

08-03-2026Replaced treble hooks on my lures with these so as to not damage fish any more than I have to. So far the are standing up well to salt water and don't get bent on a large snook or grouper.

08-03-2026I used these to replace all of the treble hooks on my Striped Bass lures. Treble hooks tear up the fish’s mouth, so I’ve stopped using trebles when targeting Striped Bass to try to help release survival.After using these for a while, I actually prefer them to trebles. Once you get the hook set, it won’t shake loose like trebles tend to. You’ll lose less fish with these compared to trebles. Switch your lures over to single hooks!

08-03-2026These hooks work great as replacements for treble hooks on my saltwater plugs. I bought the 1/0 size and they work well for my medium size plugs. I may try size 1 for smaller plugs in the near future.

08-03-2026Since most lure companies don't come with a single hook option, these are the hooks needed to switch out the standard trebles. Makes releasing fish uninjured much easier as well as getting through the mangrove or other structures without hanging up.
