I am always breaking reading arms - These seem sturdier and haven't broken yet.

My story, my eye sight... Over the last six years or so I have had my eyes check at two different eye clinics as per my doctor because I am 79 years old now and both clinics said I needed and they made for me a set of bi-focal glasses which I had to pay about $300.00 per set . I feel that after getting these custom made bi-focal glasses that I could not stand wearing them because I really feel that they were not made correctly because I had to bobb my head up and down to use them. Look up to see long distance and bobb down to do any reading. I ended up putting bot pair in my dresser drawer and never used them . I then started buying my own reader glasses from local stores like Walmart and Dollar Tree and such. Most of these were cheap a few dollars per pair and a few times I paid about $16.00 for a pair or two from Walmart. But these would only last about 3 months and I would have to buy more to replace them as they would break apart or the lens would become so scratched it would become hard to read using them.I then did a search for "readers" on Amazon and found these and took a chance that by getting 5 or 6 pair for such a very good price and the frames looked like that they were made of all metal and not plastic that they should hold up a lot better that all of those that I had bought in the past. Well after having them for about a month now I can say that these are really made very well and are very strong and have held up better than any other glasses that I have ever bought . Also the lens have not gotten any scratches on them as yet and are holding up the best yet over all.So bottom line for me is the price is right and the quality and strength for durability is very much worth the price. When it comes time for me to buy more "readers" these are the ones I will buy again !
I want to start with the durability of these glasses/frames. I read where several people claimed these broke within weeks or something. As solid as these are, I find that highly unlikely, unless they're playing full contact football without helmets.I purchased these after having had Lasik. My strength was seeing closeup, and I was very nearsighted. Well, after Lasik, as often happens with older people, you need reading glasses. I purchased these after paying $13.00 for reading glasses at Kroger, and I like these better!I love the style. The frames are very similar to what I was wearing with prescription glasses, so when I need to see close up, I look smart, not old, lol.I am a tall guy, which means a big head, and these fit very comfortably. The gun-metal gray is perfect for my complexion and silver hair. The lenses are as clear as any pair of glasses I have ever owned, and most importantly, the glasses serve their function. What once was fuzzy, is now clear.I can't believe how nice these are for $4 and some change each. I keep the $13 Kroger pair in my vehicle, as I don't care if the Texas heat damages them. I'll probably leave a pair at my friend's house in case I ever forget mine when I go to visit. The remaining pairs will just stay packed up until I lose a pair or two, lol.I purchased the 1.25x power readers.
These glasses have great blue light protection. However, I wish the scratch resistance was better, because if you drop them and they land on the lens side against a hard surface, many times they will scratch. I have bought these many times because they eventually get to scratch for me to use anymore, but I like the quality otherwise.
I am not one to write a lot of reviews unless it really means something to me. I destroy glasses left and right. I get the lenses scratched and the frames will break because I put them in my pockets or throw them around on the counter or my workspace. These have been the best reading glasses I have ever used. I really thought the metal frame wouldn't hold up, but I have had zero problems over the last six months. I have used two of the pairs of glasses that came in this set and the only reason I opened the second pair was because I misplaced the original pair in my backpack for work. When I pulled them out of the bottom of my backpack I thought they were going to be scratched and bent. Nothing was wrong with them. I do use a protector for my glasses as much as possible, but a lot of times I misplace that or leave it in my pocket. I have dropped these numerous times and banged them into things. Each time I thought man, they are going to be busted. NADA. Maybe I am lucky and got a good batch? I don't know. I would say give these things a try if you bust glasses up all the time.I am not paid to say these things or given any free items (I wouldn't turn them down- HAHA). This is true review from a purchaser. I took the time to write this to let others know what I found with these glasses. Seriously, the price is right so give them a try. Hopefully you will be surprised like I was.UPDATE - the first pair are done, but it is no fault of the glasses or the manufacturer. A wind storm took them. I was staying on top of a mountain and the wind was very bad. I put the glasses to the side and when I went to look for them they were gone. Should I take a point off because they were too light? Nah. The wind that on the mountain was crazy fast. I guess mother nature needed a pair for herself. I hope she is enjoying them.I am not paid to write this review and I did not get the items for free. My second pair is going strong. It has almost been a year since I bought these and I have only used two pair. I am surprised that these have lasted as long as they have. I wasn't expecting that to be true.If mother nature wasn't being a sassy b, I would still be on pair number one.UPDATE: 2024: I had the second pair get destroyed, but I still think they did a bang up job. This pair was going well. Then one day in the truck I lost them and couldn't find them anywhere. Little did I know that the pair was under my feet getting stomped on. I saw them and was like dang there is no way these are not scratched or bent. They were fine after a little cleaning! WOW! Not a single scratch. This was not the day these bad boys were going to die. No Way!!!! Fast forward three weeks and they finally broke. I am not sure what did it. I had them in my sweatshirt pocket so I think they were crushed by the things I was lifting. They didn't bend and they didn't scratch. It was the nose pads that broke off. I found one and I think I can get it back on the glasses, but I have no way of finding the second pad.I order these in December of 2022. I have gone through two pairs in 2023 and two months into 2024. That is great! If you don't buy these then I don't know what to tell you. Who knows how long the first pair would have made it if mother nature had kept her hands off of them. The bad thing is my three other pairs are in my desk at work so I am using some old beaters with scuffs on the lenses. Jeez.Again, I am not paid a dime to say this. I hardly write any sort of reviews like this. I am going to buy another set of five so I keep the backups at the house. I will go ahead and use a pair out of this new batch to see if my set was a fluke or if these are the real deal. Check back later!
I am impressed with the quality of these glasses. Thank you!
Very annoyed I really needed normal glasses, as I need to be able to see the colors on screen accurately. It does not state in the listing they are blue light blockers, yet that is what I received.
These are very sturdy and robust.I've had no problems with these glasses IE nothing has fallen out and the lenses seem fairly scratch resistant. Now the only problem is I need to stop loosing them 8)
Excellent quality at a low price. Metal frame very sturdy, light weight, magnification was right on, and comfortable to wear.
