Very tasty and consistent
Wonderful! Fresh, huge and tasty! I used some of them in a cake and they were phenominal there too.
So, I eat a *lot* of macadamia nuts — and this is already my third order! I’ve tried nearly every brand out there, always searching for something better (and ideally more affordable) than the overpriced ones from warehouse stores. When I first got these, I was a bit unsure — they looked kind of “wet” through the packaging window. But after opening the bag and trying one, I was pleasantly surprised. They still *look* wet, but it’s more like a salt glaze coating the nuts. Like with any salted nut, you’ll get a bit of salty residue on your fingers, but they’re not actually wet. I think that glaze is what gives them their incredibly crisp texture — and it works beautifully. At this point, I’m not even checking the price against other brands anymore. The freshness and consistency speak for themselves. With most other brands, there are always a few off ones — bitter, stale, or discolored — that end up tossed. Not with these.I really hope this company sticks around, because I’ll definitely keep reordering. Thank you!
I live in Hawaii and have bought macadamia nuts made in Hawaii from several different brands. Many times they contain rancid macadamia nuts. This OhNuts brand of macadamia nuts are high quality. I have eaten over half the bag and did not find one rancid macadamia nut. This is one of the best brands I have found. The macadamia nuts are crunchy, Fresh, and delicious with NO rancid nuts! It’s way better than any macadamia nuts that have bought in Hawaii!
I love these macadamia nuts. The dry roasted nuts have a great flavor and they are healthier without the sodium.
Good quality nuts
I previously loved ordering these nuts on amazon, so I was thrilled to be able to order directly from the manufacturer. I placed a large order - 3 bags of these macademia nuts. However, the taste and quality was absolutely awful in all 3 bags. The nuts tasted strange, and had this weird texture where they were simultaneously rock hard and chewy at the same time. I ordered these nuts back in january. Since I paid so much for them and couldn't find an option for return, I continued to try to eat these nuts... until my teeth started hurting. I ended up cracking one of my molars from chewing these nuts. I had to spend 6 entire days in the dentist chair - 2 root canals and 3 crowns to repair the damage that trying to eat these weird soggy stale rock nuts caused my teeth. It's now 6 months later and I still experience a lot of tooth pain - despite my dentist having drilled out all my nerves, there was some inflammation that just wouldn't go down. I've eaten trader joes macadamia nuts for over a decade almost daily. I tried to change to this brand and they utterly destroyed my teeth. Now I'm back to eating trader joes nuts daily with no issue. 6 months of dental nightmares these nuts cost me... plus thousands in dental bills. I wanted to warn others as clearly 3 full bags that were all filled with identically rotten and too hard inedible nuts shipped straight from the manufacturer is not a coincidence. I will not be ordering from this company in the future. Pity, the first several bags I ordered were good, but that was pre-pandemic, they clearly cut corners since. I came here to leave this review and now am seeing other reviews claiming they tampered with expiration dates - yeah, that just sealed the deal. Done with this brand.
Pricey, but delicious. It also took about 2 weeks to get my order.
