AC750 (TL-WR902AC) router V4.6 is working great! I mainly used this router on cruise ships (Celebrity and Princess) to interface my Nintendo Switch 2 and previously my Nintendo Switch to the internet (must have the premium internet package which allows the playing of games, etc not just the basic package) . It allows multiple connections to the ships WIFI network without buying multiple internet plans (can connect IPAD, Nintendo Switch and iPhone at the same time). While the ranged is basically limited to our room, I have taken the AC750 up to the pool deck and used my portable battery power supply (which is used to recharge my iPhone when not near a 120V outlet) to power the AC750 and then connect to the WIFI network to play my Nintendo Switch 2 while there. The setup for the AC750 has to be redone for each ship traveled on. I use my MacBook (which I carry with me on each cruise) to complete this configuration.
This modem is perfect for travel. It connects easily to the hotel's host server and is impressively compact. The iOS app makes setup quick and hassle-free. I also appreciate the added security features, which provide extra protection while browsing the web. Highly recommended for frequent
I travel for work. So I am in hotels often.I LOVE the ability to plug a gadget in, and point it to the access point, and have all my devices automatically connect up. This was necessary to satisfy the problem of Google chromecast, where it requires a phone to operate, and they must be on the same wifi network. (Most hotels isolate devices to keep guests secure from each other)I bought the small nano first. And I later purchased the larger version (TL-WR902AC). So I will provide the pros and cons of each here. Please also note that I am EXCLUSIVELY using this in hotels in wi-fi only (never plugged in the RJ-45 ethernet) as a wi-fi access point for all my tech, I've not used it for anything else. There are many other features and capabilities that are not accounted for here.Nano:+ simple setup, great wizard.+ SOOOOO tiny+ Works great with Marriott/SPG hotels (and everywhere else I've tried it)- Struggles with multiple devices, the single band antenna seems to be a big restriction in speed and multiple devices.- Slow speedsBig brother (AC902 model)+ Much cleaner and more stable connections - handles all my devices brilliantly.+ Far more features (that I don't use)+ Larger than the nano (picture for reference) but still so small that it's perfect for travel- Setup is not so streamlined. Additional hardware toggle on the device makes it more confusing. (I use the middle setting, "Share Hotspot")Side-notes:I used this exclusively at a single hotel before upgrading, so the differences noticed between the two models were all at the same property. Both devices get a bit warm, but nothing concerning, and it's not at all surprising given how tightly they are packing them. Both are small enough that the only reason I would recommend the nano over the big brother is if you need something to fit in your pocket, or purse, and don't have high expectations in terms of speed.
I am incredibly, incredibly disappointed in this product. After researching several travel routers, reading reviews, and scouring the internet for the appropriate product, I decided that this seemed like the most reliable option. I purchased the travel router to use in my hotel room for work purposes, expecting it to improve the internet speed and connection, as is advertised.1. I first attempted to set up the router. The instructions seemed short and rather simple, at least to someone with very little technical experience. However, I spent two hours studying and experimenting with the various settings.2. Very, very rarely did my laptop even recognize the router as a viable wifi connection. The router name only actually appeared in my network list around 10% of the time. However, in order to set up the router, you must connect directly to the router's network.3. Not only did the router name rarely appear in my network list, but it often refused to connect. I cannot express how many times I received a notification saying that I simply could not connect to the router.4. When I attempted to connect to the router, it often asked me for a password. The router is packaged with a card that details the assigned SSIDs and the password. When prompted for a password, I used the assigned password provided on the card. I never changed the password, yet each time this happened, the system rejected it, claiming that the password was incorrect.5. When I was finally able to connect to the router, I compared the internet connection and speed to that of the hotel's wifi. Sometimes there was a small amount of improvement; sometimes the connection via the router was significantly worse; and most of the time, there was very little difference at all. I compared the hotel wifi speeds to the router speeds of each individual setting.I needed this travel router in order to complete a time-sensitive work project. As my traveling circumstances are unavoidable, I was depending upon this product for my work. I did not expect it to be perfect, but I most certainly expected it to function as was advertised. The total lack of functionality has most likely cost me my job.
Can't remember getting it
Does not have an ON/OFF button. Only work when connected to electricity, needs usb cable. Not user friendly and switches off immediately when taken off electricity. Total disaster
Molto versatile. Ottimo prodotto.
