I got this before my trip to India and honestly, I noticed my husband who didn't use it was under the weather and sick for some of the trip- while I had absolutely no digestive issues or food sicknesses of any kind that arose the whole time I was there. It was amazing! Would definitely recommend. I have so much left over I have stored it in my house in my emergency kit.I would buy bottled water, pout the recommended number of drops in the bottled water and follow the directions, and THEN I would pour the purinized water through a Brita filter just to be safe. Will do that next time I am traveling to a country that requires me to do this to prevent sickness.

I can only report on the product packaging. However, this is now the second time I have encountered this issue with this exact item. The first time I threw it in the garbage. The seal is broken and the product is leaking out. Considering that this is a consumable product, double check the seal.

I usually buy Iodine, but I bought this instead to go with my filter. I used it on a recent camping trip and it worked well, I just followed the directions. There was no taste and I know it's healthier for me than Iodine, obviously, since it's all natural. I barely had to use any, so I can see this 2oz bottle lasting a while! Pretty awesome product!

I found that you cannot dispense the solution in drops from the bottle; it just pours out. I placed the solution into a dropper bottle for dispensing. Given the number of reviews that complain about packaging, you would think that the company would catch the hint that they need to take another look at their bottle.

We took these to Puerto Rico during the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. I used this product in a five gallon container and let it sit for about an hour. I tasted it and it was great! About five days later, I drank some water from the container again and it tasted exactly the same! Good product!

I only have this for emergency so I haven’t opened it yet. I put it with my other emergency pack so I wish it was in a different color so I could recognize it easier in the bag of all this other stuff of red, white and black. I’m going to assume it taste fine, in an emergency, it probably wouldn’t matter to me.

I finally got a chance to try this product that I ordered last week. I was hiking in the mountains and filled one of my water bottles with water out of a stream. I added the amount of Purinize recommended on the bottle (love the easy to use dropper bottle), shook it, let it sit for about 20 minutes, then ran it through my filter into another bottle. Drank the entire liter and there was no aftertaste like you get with the iodine based products. I will be taking this on a trip to Yosemite with me next month. Great product!

Update: I've added photos showing the use of Purinize on my tap water using a cloth as filter (showed my Sawyer bag as well since that's what I usually use). Water tasted much better (usually has a metallic taste) even though not much sediment showed on the cloth._______I truly enjoy this product. Working as a ParkRanger near Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks gives me plenty of opportunities to hike and camp in the back country. One of the most convenient aspects of this is the dropper-top. It makes for ease of use and to keep from cross contaminating. When flying to places like Yosemite I prefer to only take a carry-on and this package is travel size. It doesn't have an expiration date and it starts working in an hour. Once the solution is processed it creates a sediment that works in tandem with my Sawyer filter. You can use a coffee filter otherwise. The result: great tasting, pure water.

You can taste the difference

PURINIZE is simply made from mineral salts in purified water. These natural elements coagulate over 200 contaminants and impurities in water including bacteria, protozoa, viruses, pharmaceuticals, VOC's, heavy metals and more. These can then be eliminated through a basic coffee filter or even a fine cloth, leaving you with perfectly purified water. Best Used For

Hurricanes, floods, severe storms, chemical spills and other natural or man-made disasters jeopardize water quality and availability. In an emergency, having access to safe, clean water for drinking, personal hygiene, and cooking is critical. Power outages, bacterial or chemical contamination (boil-water advisories), or infrastructure damage could disrupt your public or private water supply.

Be prepared for any water crisis with PURINIZE. A valuable item in an emergency preparedness kit or bug out bag, PURINIZE transformans any freshwater source (even compromised ones) into a safe, potable water supply on demand. And, unlike other water treatment products, it offers protection against toxic contaminants, like MCHM. By adding PURINIZE to your emergency survival kit or bug-out bag, you can be sure that you and your family will always have access to safe, clean water.

Whether camping in the Adirondacks, thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, kayaking along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, or participating in any other outdoor activity, it's important to remember your water needs. It's almost impossible to carry enough water needed for an entire trip, so being equipped to treat any available source water is necessary when planning to spend extended time in the wilderness. PURINIZE is a convenient, lightweight, non-toxic water purifier proven to purify even the worst backcountry water sources without imparting an unpleasant aftertaste or odor. So, pack PURINIZE as your primary method of water purification as well as a backup treatment system - filters can break, and batteries eventually die. It's always best to have a secondary option in the event of an emergency. PURINIZE offers extra security with minimal additional weight.

Made and Distributed in the USA Ingredients: 97.5% Purified Water 2.5% Minerals Natural Minerals Include:

Conventional water purifiers are typically recommended for short-term or limited emergency treatment of water and shouldn't be used to purify water continuously over extended periods of time because if taken in excess, they can lead to adverse health effects. For example, drinking water containing chlorine dioxide for long periods above maximum residual disinfectant level can affect the central nervous system in some infants, young children, and fetuses of pregnant women, and could eventually lead to anemia. Since PURINIZE contains no harmful chemicals and is 100% non-toxic, using it as directed to purify water is safe for short or long-term use without any harm or health risks.

Both PURINIZE and conventional water purifiers eliminate or reduce biological contaminants like bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms. However, unlike other water purifiers, PURINIZE has the unique ability to reduce toxic, "21st-century" contaminants that are the most commonly found pollutants in outdoor and drinking water sources today. These include agricultural chemicals like pesticides and herbicides, industrial chemicals like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB's) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), heavy metals like lead and arsenic, pharmaceuticals like hormones and steroids, disinfectants like chlorine and chloramines, and disinfection byproducts like trihalomethanes.
