Nutricost's Coconut Milk Powder - Coconut Milk powder is a popular cooking ingredient that is used in Southeast Asian and other cuisines. Coconut Milk Powder is great as a coffee creamer, soups, curries, puddings, sauces, ice cream, smoothies or as a great substitute for most baked goods that use milk. This organic powder offers a great cooking option to increase consistency and thickness of dishes. It is also delicious on it’s own as light coconut milk or coconut cream when mixed with warm water.
I can't have dairy products and use this instead of milk. I like that it doesn't have anything in it but coconut powder---no sugar, nothing extra. This is my 3rd jar. It mixes well in my coffee and tea with just a spoon, with few lumps. Once in a while there's a lump that I smash with my spoon, it's no big deal. It's creamy tasting and stores and well in my cupboard. Love it. Will only buy this brand.
It has too much gum, even when it is mixed in a hot coffee it does not get full dissolved like others coconut powder.I bought this because it is cheaper compare to others but it does not worth due to poor quality and too much cassava gum that you can feel. I would return it if it was possible.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I needed a replacement for my powder creamer because its so unhealthy. I tried this product and it works for me. It'll never be as creamy as my regular powder creamer but it's a lot healthier. Makes my coffee fairly creamy with a hint of coconut flavor. I use in conjuction with a liquid alond base half and half from nutpods. ***THIS WILL NOT mix easily with just a spoon. You get lots of clumps that are dry in the middle. This is easily fixed with a cheap milk frother though.
Very good. One scoop with scoop inside is perfect with a cup of mushroom coffee. Use frother to mix. Great value. Creamy and smooth by don't forget to use a frother to froth yourmushroom coffee. I fill coffee cup half way with boiling water with mushroom coffee and this coconut creamer in the cup. Froth for a few seconds. Then fill the coffee cup to the brim with the hot water. I used an electric kettle which heats the water the way i like it in 90 seconds. Very efficient system.
I bought this coconut powder to replace my previous one. Both of them were good, but the Nutricost powder is the only one I could find on the Amazon market that is: curbside recyclable, vegan, and organic. Many of them are vegan and organic, but this Nutricost one is unique in that it can be freely recycled at curbside. Most of the coconut milk powders on the market come in bags that are not curbside recyclable, which means hardly anyone can recycle them (although you can recycle anything with Terracycle Zero Waste Boxes, which I use). The price of this product is fair, and average with what you would pay for a similar product on Amazon. The flavor of Nutricosts' powder is very rich and creamy. The texture is nice and soft. Mixing it requires one of these things: 1.) Blender Bottle (with mixing ball), 2.) Hot Liquid, or 3.) Blender. I've used 1 and 2 exclusively, and it works very well as a milk substitute for my protein shakes (Vega is the best one on the market). It also works very well as a coffee creamer. You can use this in cooking, but as I'm new to this product and don't cook often, I doubt I'll see that for a long time. The taste is great when you mix it appropriately. It is not overly nutty, and really adds rich creamy flavor and texture to beverages. I will update this review if anything changes, but this is an excellent product and I recommend it highly. Try this out, as it'll help save: 1.) Time, 2.) Energy (no more lugging around heavy milk bottles), 3.) Environment, and 4.) Animal cruelty.
This product has good flavor. It tends to want to clump a little bit in hot liquids. I use a whisk and that resolves the issue. Overall, I believe it is overpriced based on similar products, similar size that are more economical .
I bought this coconut powder after having used it at a friend's home for my coffee and tea as a creamer. HOWEVER, the organic doesn't dissolve in coffee or tea. I should have bought the non-organic coconut milk powder, which does dissolve. Check and compare the ingredients in both the organic and the non-organic. Just use the organic for baking. I was told by the company, who did stand behind their product and make it right by me.There is a slight Sweetness in it.
Good Product.
