St Regis Cabernet Sauvignon (non alcoholic wine)
I am pregnant and wanted to try out non-alcoholic wine. Initially it was "fun" to drink out of a wine glass again, it tasted ok, very light in wine flavor and more juice flavored. I had a glass or two the first night and then found myself not really interested in going back for more the next night (not usually the case with real wine). I think ultimately it was ok, but I realize I like a lot more than just the look and feel of sipping wine, I also enjoy the alcohol aspect :) Maybe other brands or flavors can do the trick but I probably wouldn't buy it again. I feel bad rating it a 3 because they really did do their best to make fake wine.
This wine tastes pretty close to a c.s. however it does have a slight odd scent to it. I just added a small ice cube and it was fine. Perfectly drinkable. Great for pregnant women or people trying to drink less. I like that it really does taste like a sweet red wine and not grape juice or another fruit juice.
Sweet, dull and not good
Loving wine but not the hangover, I've recently decided to try non-alcoholic wines. And, full disclosure, I don't buy expensive (alcoholic) wine, so my tastes might be pretty plebian.St. Regis Cabernet Sauvignon isn't bad for what it is. There's a touch of juice taste to it, but not overbearing. It's a bit on the thin side, and a slightly sour/mouth-pucker that I'm trying to convince my palate is the alcohol sting. It is reminiscent of a drier wine, so it sometimes my convincing works. It does say to refrigerate after opening, and I've enjoyed Sutter Home Fre Red Blend chilled, but this isn't bad at room temp. No off-putting smells accompanied my bottle and it was well-packaged and arrived a day early. Given the pandemic, and the fact that I'm limiting grocery runs, the fact that it's more expensive than what I'd normally buy is fine.I'm awaiting a shipment of Arial wines to compare, but so far this was better than Sutter Home at room temp, and reminded me a bit more of drinking actual red wine.
I enjoyed the Cabernet. The first few sips were a little odd to get used to the flavor. It almost tasted as if you splashed a tiny amount of water into a normal Cabernet. However, just like regular wine, once it sat in the glass for awhile the flavors changed and I enjoyed it as a great substitute. I do believe if you're trying to avoid red wine because of the acid reflux it causes that this isn't going to prevent that. I have asthma and red wine is one of my triggers. This still stuffed me up and caused issues just like normal wine, but not quite as bad.
I loved this wine! Being pregnant and social is a hard thing to do. I loved feeling included and drinking out of a wine glass. It tasted like real wine without the alcohol. Even now that I'm not pregnant, I will drink this when I don't want to wake up with a hangover. Definitely worth what I paid for it!
I have found really good non-alcoholic beer so I thought I'd look for the same quality in wine. I enjoy both beer and wine, just at different times/occasions. But this has a definitely "grape juice" flavor. I poured it out. I have drank Ariel which tastes pretty much like wine but the flavor if very flat (I can mix just a little "real" cabernet wine in with it and drink it) but I couldn't drink this even mixing in a little regular wine. Their Regis brut champagne is sweet but it does have a good flavor (it should not be called brut by any stretch of the imagination)--it's more like sparkling moscato. So my search continues. or i'll just stick with my non-alcoholic beer and forget about none-alcoholic wine.
This product was unusable as it contains sugar and I don't consume sugar.None of the labels showed ingredients or that any sugar was added. It stated sugar was present, grapes are high in sugar that's normal but nothing added. In the label I have attached it shows both added sugar and sugar on the listed ingredients.I'm sure sugar is added because it makes it taste sweeter. This is no longer wine or is more of a wine flavored sugar water. There is no reason to add sugar to a good dealcoholized wine. This makes me think it's not good to begin with. It makes me think that this is more of a Boones Farm.Buyer beware.
Did not like it. Too sweet.
