Don't know what's up with the negative reviews, but this jacket is great. I was first impressed by the fact that it was packaged on a hanger. The hanger was plastic, but hey. The leather (cowhide) is just the right thickness, supple but substantial. The lining is a kind of light flannel weight and texture. The zipper is metal and substantial (remember metal zippers?) and a flap covers it on the front side for a finished look. As for the fit, this is nearly always an issue when buying clothes online. Even though I am a medium, I have a broad back. This means I have to take a large in this sort of thing. The fit around the chest was fine, as was the waist -- which has a snap along with the zipper -- and length. Sleeves were just a bit long, but I like that in this sort of jacket because I don't like the sleeves riding up every time I raise my arms, as with the steering wheel when driving. If I had ordered a medium, it would have been wrong just about everywhere. So if you're fat, I can't help you. If you're thin, you'd probably prefer a medium. But if you're neither one nor the other but rather a "catalog medium" and want a slightly longer sleeve (not one that's going to hang around your knees), I'd go with the large. I mean this price. Can you believe it?Years ago, during the Raiders of the Lost Ark mania, Disneyland had jackets something like this for over $300 but I didn't buy one because I just couldn't part with the $300 and I've regretted it ever since. This one is much like it though not "distressed" and a third of the price. What's not to like?
Great fit great price very good product love it
High quality leather and exceptionally well made. I bought this same jacket nearly 20 years ago, wearing it often including for motorcycle riding, with the only sign of wear being the leather split at the fold line in the collar which is why I just bought a new one. I was very pleased to learn that the same jacket was still available. Sturdy feel, comfortable fit and warm, it often attracts compliments. The new one is of the same high quality as the original. I recommend it without reservation. It is made in China, however.
I was looking for a nice distressed brown leather jacket for around $120, and this jacket was perfect. I like the design a lot and it seems well made. I am 5'11 and 185lbs, but I'm in the middle of dropping down 170lbs, so I ordered a medium. It is a bit tighter than I like right now, but I'm okay with that (and expected it in a medium) and think it will fit perfectly in about 2 months after I drop some more weight. It is also a little shorter than I prefer, but only by about 1/2 an inch. My only complaint is that the leather is closer to the feel of suede than I normally like. It has a bit of a nap to it. I don't dislike it, but in the pictures the leather looks much smoother. Also, be aware that the distressed brown is a VERY dark brown. It looks almost black out of the package, but if you see it in sunlight or against something truly black, you will see the difference. Overall, I'm more than satisfied with my purchase.
Well made garment using nice thick and soft leather. I would recommend this A-2 style jacket.
Have ordered two of these now, and they are of excellent quality and fit perfectly!
Jan 2024 update. I went to Seattle over the holidays to visit my daughter and we’ve had a few mornings in the 40s. (Orlando, FL). Love this jacket. High quality, well made, excellent fit per the size chart, and warm. I almost wish I had more opportunities. Almost. ️ ——I had one like this stolen ~40 years ago when I was in college in Brooklyn. I couldn’t afford to replace it and moved to Daytona Beach right after graduation. I’ve always wanted another one. Jensen Huang and an offer from my wife for Father’s Day finally got me to move on it. I was very much looking forward to trying it on when it got here.I got it tonight. This jacket is really well made, comfortable, a perfect fit using the sizing chart (a visual would help with the arm instructions), and will do well for most cold days in most parts of the country. I’ll probably get 15, maybe 30 days a year here in Orlando, FL if I push it. I may have to. The jacket looks sharp, too.I do really like it, like 6-stars!, and appreciate the company’s response to my “Signature Required” problem below. (I apologize for coming across irritated. I was). I can’t let this affect the rating I gave. Still, 5-stars. I am sharing for prospective customers and Amazon to know.I came home early afternoon, missed the UPS driver by like 10 minutes, and found a sticker on the door, “Signature Required”. I had to drive to a CVS the next day to pick it up. Disappointing, inconvenient, and annoying.I drive up there after I get done working (9 PM today, my day started at the gym at 5 AM), present the UPS ticket, and the lady asks me for my name , then my ID. The ticket states, bring this ticket to CVS, signature required. Nothing about ID required. Also annoying. Actually, I don’t care one way or the other on either of these. Just let me know is all I ask. I had to go back out to the Explorer for that, back into the store, and back on line. We’ve been Amazon customers since 2001 and had well over a thousand delivers. I don’t recall one ever missing, many costing more, nor any requiring a signature. We live in a great neighborhood and city. I’m thankful for that.I understand that this is the company policy. That’s cool. I don’t understand how it’s not disclosed anywhere. I could have had it shipped to the office, like I do wines.com. I could have arranged for my wife or me to work from home that day.Sports, please add that to the listing in a prominent and sensible place, like in the description or near the shipping. Amazon, please add a “Signature Required” option for sellers and a notice prominently displayed to buyers alongside the shipping information.Thank you.
One hel of a jacket superb
So nice. The size fits the size chart. I will be proud to give it to my son who dreams of being the pilot his father was.
