Hardtimes Handcrafted Beef Jerky - Original Flavor - 8 oz. Jar

Excellent Jerky! It's dry and chewy. A great thin texture that has a savory Worchestershire-soy flavor. Wonderful jerky. The first bite was like home to me. My father, who has since passed, used to make his own jerky. This is exactly like the way his used to taste. This is not like store bought processed jerky where you question the origin of the meat or if it's plastic. Worth every dollar! Please make larger amounts for purchase. Love this!

I am a bit of a jerky snob. I've had Jack Links, I've had People's Choice, I've had No Man's Land, I've had Wild River, I've had Wicked Cuts; all of those fall short or completely miss the mark (although No Man's was close) for the type of jerky I am partial to. But having now eaten half of the bag of this Hardtimes jerky in the first day that I got it, I am comfortable admitting I have formed a consensus: This jerky is the real deal. Dare I say, it's jerky of the year, mon, to borrow and modify a line from Seinfeld. It's dry but chewy, salty and a tad bit spicy, but not an annoying level of spice; nothing gets in the way of enjoying this effin' jerky. It's definitely a bit spendy, so you should do your best to savor the experience. Some of the older reviews mentioned mold and suspected the lid for container was to blame, being loose and all with no vacuum seal over the opening of the container. Mine came in a resealable plastic bag as depicted in the product image, so I can't attest to those folk's prior experience. I didn't have any quality issues.Jerky.

I just received my order and I'm extremely happy with this brand. It arrived fully sealed and fresh. The meat doesn't have a weird taste, and it's dry, like I expect it to be. It also had a mildly salty taste, which I VERY much appreciate.I've tried quite a few brands and this is my favorite so far. Well worth the price.

Hard Times is my number 2 Jerky, right behind Ralph's. The container holds a decent amount, but I run in to the same situation with each container. I empty the contents and sort them according to texture, thinness and consistency. There are usually only 2 or 3 pieces that I would consider High Quality. That is, they are smooth, thin, and solid. The majority of the contents, are rather flimsy, and look as if they have been put through a blender. This is not necessarily that bad, but it leads to some pieces being nothing more than shreds and long tough strands. Flavor is great, and packaging is solid. I like this jerky, and continue to purchase, mainly because of the price. But my search continues for that Liquor Store jerky that was so prolific "back in the day". Hard, dry, and super thin jerky may be a dream, but it keeps me searching.

The beef jerky was bought as a birthday gift. The item was sealed tightly prior to opening, and the beef jerky tasted fresh.
