I have always enjoyed a delicious fruit cake & have tasted various kinds to know that all fruitcakes are not equal ! My favorite has always been Jane Parker from A&P so I was very disappointed when the cakes were no longer available. I was happy to recently discover that they were available via Amazon, advertised has having the same receipe as the original Jane Parker. Despite the high cost, I decided to place an order.I received the cake today & have just finished my first bites. It is very moist & tasty but definitely not the Jane Parker fruitcake I remember having eaten over the years before A& P stores closed. The cake is primarily candied fruits, raisins, nuts with limited bites of cake. I remember Jane Parker fruit cakes having much more cake in addition to the other items. Therefore I am very disappointed in the cake’s mixture! An over mixture of candied fruits & raisins! Therefore In order to enjoy the cake, I will mix slices with other cakes such as Stollen or Pantone that I always buy during this season. But if you like more fruit than cake, then this cake is for you!
I don’t write reviews BUT I had to for this cakeI’m 70 yrs old my mom brought the A&P Jane Parker care every year at Xmas time..last year I brought one from another vender…it was not this cake! If you want the original Jane Parker fruit cake this is the one! It’s the recipe I remember full of fruit and moist I ordered it last night got it this afternoon WOW It’s pricey but I feel worth it! I have 10 siblings I can wait to show up at Xmas with this cake…if there is any left I can’t stop tasting it I’m eating some as I’m tying this I swear. The new owner’s really do have the recipe I remember…You won’t be disappointed! Buy this fruit cake from this vendor only if you want the real thingMerry Christmas everyone God BlessA bit more cake and a little less fruit would make this cake even better…just a suggestionFrom a professional fruit cake eater still a great cake! Thanks
Just right blend of fruits and nuts with spices. Moist. Price is justified, considering nature of ingredients. Highly recommended.
expensive, but always good if you are a fruit cake love. John Keefer
Omg!! Taste soooo good!!! Best I have eaten in years! Yes, its expensive but so worth it if you live fruitcake. Bought a Claxton 1 pound bar in grocery store. Taste aweful, could not eat. But this parker cake is awesome!!!! 3 lbs cost $60. I think its worth every penny!
Jane Parker fruitcake was a tradition when I was a child a long ago. It tastes the same - relatively moist (for fruitcake and full of fruit and nuts.
At age 78 we have had a lot of fruitcakes over the years. I cannot imagine anyone giving this fruitcake less than a very favorable review. This fruitcake was by far the best ever fruitcake we have ever had.
This is a real treat for me. This brings back my youth when mom would shop at the A & P and bring home a loaf or two during the holidays. I know a lot of people cringe at fruitcake but I happen to like it very much. It sure is much more expensive than back in the day but it is one of my very favorites and I get this when I want to splurge on a treat for myself. I do always wish though that the fruits could be more and that there would be citron but I will probably still order this. Very happy I can indulge in something I like from my youth. So many other things are gone and I hope this stays around at least as long as I do.

The Jane Parker Story
Jane Parker Classic Fruit Cake
1930's
Jane Parker is a brand that has symbolized premium quality baked goods. For over 80 years all products were baked for and sold exclusively at over 16,000 A&P supermarkets across America.
1940's - 1970's
Over the next 40 years and across multiple generations, Americans made Jane Parker products a part of their daily lives. During the holidays, a Jane Parker Fruit Cake was a family tradition.
1980's - 2016
Over time, A&P’s footprint across America declined, and as stores closed, Jane Parker products became harder to find. Eventually A&P filed for bankruptcy and the Jane Parker brand, products, and beloved fruit cake was thought to be gone forever.
2017 - Present
Two brothers, Chris & Alex Ronacher rescued the Jane Parker brand along with all the original recipes and begin baking the beloved fruit cakes again. To the delight of customers everywhere, Jane Parker is back, and the tradition continues!
When we heard the news about the Jane Parker brand being lost forever, our first thoughts were that we had to rescue it.
How would the Holidays ever be the same again without a Jane Parker Fruit Cake?
Mom & Dad, Grandma & Grandpa, and millions of families across America grew up enjoying Jane Parker fruit cakes, and it was part of family tradition.
So, when the rights to the brand, along with all original recipes were being held in a bankruptcy liquidation sale, we put in a bid....and we won!
With the support of our family, help from friends, and an amazing relationship we formed with our baker and suppliers, we were able to successfully bring this beloved brand back into production, all right here in the USA.
We are so pleased to know that rescuing this iconic American brand has brought happiness to so many families across America.
Everyone can once again enjoy a premium quality Jane Parker Fruit Cake, and the tradition continues!!
The Original Jane Parker Classic Light Fruit Cake is prepared faithfully to the original recipe.
Filled with over 2/3 luscious fruits & nuts including: plump juicy raisins, glace red cherries, glace golden pineapple, & choice pecans.
This Classic cake is our most remembered cake. Baked with pride in the USA.
