I am very pleased with this purchase. I was looking to get something that was hi-vis, primarily comprised of natural fibers, and we cablnt forget about it looking good! This hit all the boxes. It is a great length, allowing you to wear it multiple ways. I prefer the slouchy beany with a decent amount of slack in the back and this has a lot of slack. The material is sonewhat thin, and you think it wouldn't be too warm, but since it's merino wool it's extremely warm! Very happy with this purchase. I would highly recommend it for fellow snow shovellers.

This beanie is my husband’s favorite winter accessory, and it stands out from other beanies I’ve tried for a few reasons that often don’t get highlighted in typical Amazon reviews.First, the quality of the Merino wool is exceptional. It’s soft against the skin, warm without being itchy, and naturally breathable, so it regulates temperature well even on colder days. Unlike synthetic beanies that can make you overheat or feel scratchy, this one stays comfortable all day whether he’s commuting, hiking, or just running errands. The fit is perfect. It's snug enough to stay in place but not tight, with a fold-over cuff that adds extra warmth around the ears. The one-size design truly works for most head sizes, which is something that sets it apart from other beanies that are either too loose or too tight.Durability is another standout feature. After repeated use and several washes, the beanie has kept its shape, softness, and color with no pilling, which is something I’ve rarely seen in wool beanies at this price point. Plus, the classic black color is versatile and looks polished without being flashy.Overall, this beanie is more than just warm headwear. It’s a combination of comfort, durability, and quality that justifies calling it a favorite. My husband wears it almost daily during fall and winter, and it has quickly become his go-to beanie for any outdoor activity.

The Minus33 Merino Wool Ridge Cuff Beanie has quickly become one of my favorites. It’s incredibly soft and comfortable, making it easy to wear all day without any itchiness. Unlike some other wool beanies, this one feels great against the skin and provides a snug yet breathable fit.In 20-degree weather, it keeps my head warm without overheating, which is something I’ve struggled with in synthetic or bulkier hats. Compared to the Carhartt beanies I’ve had in the past, this one stands out for its superior comfort and insulation while remaining lightweight. The quality of the merino wool is excellent, and it holds up well over time without stretching out. Whether for everyday wear or outdoor activities, this beanie delivers in both warmth and comfort. If you're looking for a premium wool beanie, this one is definitely worth it.

I bought this in every color, unfortunately before trying one. I have a small head and they slowly slide right up and off. They don’t stay put. Because they are 100% Merino, there is no grip to them, and while they are extremely warm and comfortable and soft, some tighter elasticity would be good around the bottom - no matter how gorgeous it feels, since it doesn’t stay on my head it doesn’t do me any good. I think when you have a small head, beanies like this also make your head look smaller and that can be less flattering than a hat with a brim. These don’t frame your face as another hat would, they emphasize the flaws. So if you have a small or narrow face, the beanie style exaggerates that. If you have a large head and short hair, a beanie will stay on and is a great look. Then yes, get this and enjoy. But if you are middle aged with medium or long hair, and a smallish head, this won’t be useful or the most complimentary look. Since they are so soft, and warm, I decided to use them as liners in other hats that I am knitting that are fairly loose. I will sew a snug elastic into the base of this wool beanie hat and place the hand knitted hat on top. That solves the entire problem of looking like a Neglected beetle. The beanie colors are all gorgeous and true to the computer photos, and because my knitting is loose and there is a little space between the stitches, the beautiful color of the beanie hat shows through from underneath, creating a rich, color-enhanced effect to my knitted hats. Also, the layering of the hats allows my head to seem to have more volume, so now you see the pretty hat and not just the smallness or narrowness of the face. Again, If you have high cheekbones, a good jaw line, and a large head, or a beard, this beanie by itself will be perfect for you, especially under the hood of a jacket or coat. As an aside, I’ve noticed that wearing a beanie under a hood keeps the hood on and positioned correctly on the head so it doesn’t cover your forehead or eyes, and it creates tremendous body warmth to layer this way. Some hoods are very large and fall forward because they are meant to be worn over a hat. If you have a coat like this with too large of a hood, a beanie like this will keep you feeling very comfortable in your coat when the hood is up, and could be just what you need to make your coat fit properly. Another good thing, it folds up so small that it fits easily in any coat pocket, not just large pockets, even your jeans pocket. That makes it very convenient to tuck away in case it’s not cold when you leave the house but will be cold later on. It’s unbelievably soft and not at all itchy. Unlike lambswool. People who have a wool allergy are probably allergic to the lanolin in wool or to itchy lambswool. But Merino wool is different and should be silky. Merino wool can be worn as undershirts against the skin. I recently bought Merino wool undershirts from perhaps the best known company in Maine, and upon handling them realized they had been treated or sadly were made with a lower quality merino, unlike years ago. These hats have none of that low quality itchiness. They are refined. At first I thought there was some actual silk in them. No. Anyway, megacephalics, enjoy!

ABOUT US

WHY MERINO WOOL?

Ridge Cuff Wool Beanie

OTHER PRODUCTS BY US

In 2002, Minus33 was created by textile engineers from L. W. Packard & Co. Inc. L. W. Packard has been involved in just about every aspect of the wool industry, and a proud family-owned business since 1916. In 1995, L.W. Packard was selected by Textile World magazine as one of the top ten textile plants in the world.

With so much of our family history rooted in the wool industry, combined with our genuine passion for the outdoors, it only made sense for Minus33 to emerge as a merino wool clothing brand. Minus33 began as a snowmobile brand, and quickly expanded to other outdoor markets, such as hiking, skiing, and hunting due the versatility of our product offering.

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

The Ridge Cuff Beanie is perfect if you are looking for style, comfort and warmth! Provides all the warmth necessary on a cold winter's day while staying light and comfortable. This hat is perfect for your next adventure, or for a stroll down the street!

This garment is 100% merino wool and it is interlock knit. Since this hat is knit it is designed for the wool to be looped continuously. This allows the hat to stretch even though it is made out of 100% merino wool.

A perfect neck gaiter should be extremely soft, warm, and comfortable. Well, that's just what you'll get with this Midweight piece. Wear it on your next fall hike or winter ski trip and keep your neck and face warm. Chapped lips and face are a thing of the past with this in your arsenal.

Keep your dexterity while warming your hands with these fingerless gloves! Great for use in tasks where you still need access to your fingertips, like tying your shoes on the trail or using your smartphone's weather app, you'll be reaching for these gloves any time the temperature drops.

Warm and functional, this balaclava combines all the benefits of a hat and neck gaiter into one great item! Great for use under a hat or hood of a jacket, this item will soon become a fan favorite. Cover your head, ears, and mouth on the coldest of days, or pull it back and just utilize the neck covering if the temperatures rise. Versatility abounds with this balaclava.
