I've tried a few different flavors over the last few months. Overall they've all been good, but I've got a more detailed rundown for each:Down by the Chesapeake: This is, to me, the best flavor by FAR. I ordered it at first just to try it, because I'd never heard of anyone seasoning beef jerky with crab spice. Not something I would've thought of, but the combination creates a great savory, but not too salty jerky flavor with just a little spice kick. Also just tender enough to be a good chew. ABSOLUTELY recommend. I've ordered it multiple times and haven't been disappointed yet.Bourbon Soaked: Still a good flavor. A bit sweet, almost sticky. Good enough to be tempted to re-order.Buffalo Turkey Jerky: Turkey jerky in general usually isn't my thing, but this is pretty good. The buffalo flavor is spot on. Good buffalo kick with JUST enough spice to enjoy, but not overpower. If you like turkey jerky and a little spice, you'll most likely enjoy this.Hickory Smoked: I have to admit I wasn't a fan of this one. Tougher than any other I ordered, and VERY salty. I'm a connoisseur of many types of jerky, from the finest to gas station, so I've had worse, but I wouldn't order this particular flavor again. For most of these, they're great and you can't go wrong. Give it a try.
The real deal! This isn’t your run-of-the-mill Jerky that’s been chemically softened and tastes like all the rest. This is dry and hearty. The Old Country is perfect for someone who likes salt and doesn’t like Jalapeño in everything on the planet. There is just enough black pepper to get your attention, and the flavor is really good.
Tough and very dry. Very spicy and I like hot but this is very spicy
Hands down the best beef jerky I ever had in my entire life! But be warned it is extremely salty! But i'm a salt aholic, so it's heaven to me! I've been looking around for the saltiest beef jerky, I could find, and I finally found it! Not to mention the amazing seasoning and flavor! It's unbelievable! I would highly recommend this beef jerky! WOW!
Holy Cow!!! This is absolutely the best Jerky I've had in many, many years! This is the Real Deal folks. It's what I like to call Stained Glass Jerky. The type that when you hold it up to the light, you get beautiful amber glow shining through, unlike that shoe leather garbage that's out there. That stuff lets no light through whatsoever. Anyway, Bronco Bolly's Beef Jerky is both tender and delicious, you can't beat the price, and it's now my new go to jerky! Thank You Bronco Bolly!!!
I love spicy things. Thai food and indian food are delicious and I like those dishes fully hot. But I don't just like hot for heat, I want flavor too!Having said that. This jerky is beyond spicy. I think "flaming hot" isn't close enough to describe the product. "Flaming Hot" Cheetos are nothing, but this jerky was killing me after a few pieces. Then I realized why after reading the ingredients "Carolina Reaper Powder" which explains a lot. Oh, and it's going to burn a hole through your stomach and the 2nd burn is going to be quiet unpleasant. Thank goodness I have a bidet.I think if that was the end of it I'd be OK with the spicy jerky. I can take the heat, even though it's brutal. But with almost all hot peppers beyond Habaneros they all have an extremely bitter taste that you need to address if you're cooking with it. Unfortunately they did not address the bitter taste with the flavoring on this jerky so it wasn't good, but with your mouth on fire from Carolina Reaper Powder you won't be tasting much after the first bite or two anyways. It's just hot and gross. The meat is a little bit moist, but not too much. My problem with the meat is that I had a lot of fatty pieces and the fat wasn't very nice since it was still too moist, it was very chewy in a bad way. Also a lot of pieces had tendon and gristle. The cuts of meat hadn't been cleaned very well and seemed low quality.I just can't recommend this.
Small pieces of meat which doesn’t brother me. I got the Cajun jerky which is super salty. Tastes and smells like it was marinated in soy sauce. I will say a nice heat. Wouldn’t buy again.
Jerkies prepared like this is a pretty rare find in a grocery store, unless you start to go out into the country. Dry and salty, these make excellent treats, but I recommend you eat them a few pieces at a time.I wasn't crazy about the flavor - it's very salty, like the old world would have prepared perishables for long storage with salt - kind of salty. It's also drier - yet tender - so if you're in for a specific mouthfeel from beef jerkies, this might not be an ideal choice. I did like it though, because it was both nostalgic, and gave me a chance to appreciate a sense of a long-standing tradition/practice.I perceived this as good value when compared with other beef jerkies, which to me seemed to have far too much waterweight to the price per ounce I was paying. This is a full bag of very dry jerky. It reconstituted to much more in my stomach :)
