The Linksys Max-StreamAC1750 WiFi 5 Router features Next-Gen AC WiFi with MU-MIMO technology, the latest advancement towards uninterrupted, simultaneous WiFi connections. Devices such as 4K TVs, HD streaming media players, tablets, game consoles, and many more use a lot of bandwidth, and with MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) technology, the Max-Stream AC1750 WiFi 5 router sends WiFi to multiple devices at the same time and same speed. Your whole family can play, stream, and work at once, without experiencing lag or buffering—at up to 2x the speed of a non-MU-MIMO router.
OK as a basic router. This can't handle multiple smart home devices on one network. When you add to many devices, it doesn't just slow traffic, it halts traffic on specific devices to allow normal bandwidth traffic on everything else. The device it chose to halt ended up being my primary PC most of the time. I had to add a second router to my network, one just for the smart home devices, and I left this one for general traffic.
We were a little frustrated at the set up process but after a tech person walked us through it was all good . It isn't the best or newest product but it's doing the job perfectly!
Works good
We had the same router and modem for years through our local cable/internet provider. We have 2 tvs/rokus upstairs, an echo upstairs, 2 tvs/rokus downstairs, an Amazon portal, nintendo switch, cell phones, lab tops, a roku in basement.. a family of 4 with a lot of tech stuff I guess! We purchased a signal booster to put between the living room (router location) and our bedroom because our TV was constantly losing signal but it just would never seem to help. We couldn't watch any streaming service without constant interruptions of losing signal, freezing, etc.I found this router and we decided let's just try it and see if that's the problem. It was very easy to install- my husband plugged it in and connected it to the modem we have. Then he downloaded an app on his phone and followed the instructions to name our internet wifi signal and set the password. We then went through all our devices and connected them all to the network. We then tested our TV and not once has it lost signal since! We haven't had any connectivity issues at all on anything actually.I really like that in the app you can see all the connected devices on the network, name them so you can easily tell who's TV, device, phone, etc is each one. And you can give signal priority to certain devices so let's say some one is working from home on a day, you can prioritize their laptop so they have the best signal during their video chat (or whatever situation applies to you).It has 3 antennas you can aim in different directions, but ours is in a cabinet under our TV and it's definitely projecting signal everywhere we need it.I highly recommend this router to any family with multiple devices that wants smooth use for everyone using the wifi!
Worked great. Had to replace 1 i had for about 10 years or so. And took only a few minutes to connect to wifi. And was back up and running.
I've had this router before ... Easy to set up and works great!
Have been frustrated getting adequate Wifi coverage for my single story 2100FT home for several months Have been using a name brand router provided by my internet provider. Theoretically, it should have gotten the job done based upon the mfg specs...unfortunately, that just hasn't been the case. Did some extensive research reading product reviews and specs. I finally, decided to give this unit a try. Great price as well as some personal experience with the Lynksys product line. Bottom line, this unit GETS THE JOB DONE! It was easy to set up and I now have a strong wifi signal in every room/corner of the house including the 2 car garage [use wifi for the garage door opener]. I have almost tripled the signal strength/data speed throughout the house. The weakest spot in the house is almost double what the strongest spot was with the other router. I did speak briefly with customer support regarding changing the wifi network password from the mfg default password and the rep was very professional and efficient in assisting me. It was quickly resolved and I'm very pleased with the resulting home wifi network using this fantastic router..
I purchased this router to see if the wifi was better than my 2yr old tplink router. The setup was impressively cumbersome. Who would expect to access an external website to set up internet connection? The "new" linksys router delivered 3mbps compared with 5mbps for the old tplink router. A few hours after UPS delivered my "new" linksys router, a linksys rep helping me with initial setup told me the serial number showed the unit was not new but already out of warranty.
