well made, some of the partitions are removable at the bottom for longer items. stack well together
They changed the dividers and locking tabs from red to orange, but these are the same organizers previously available from Walmart under the Hyper Tough brand. They're more expensive here, but if you're interested in matching your existing organizers, this is what you're looking for.As for the product itself, I'm generally happy with them. So far, no cracks or broken hinges and they stack nicely. I tend to remove the locking tabs just because I don't travel with my collection and I don't want to mess with unlocking them every time. Dividers could be more flexible to allow for custom sizes along each row, but it's a minor gripe.
work great to have for your many screws and bolts
Adam Savage did an episode on a similar small parts organizer from a German manufacturer that he really loved. I figured if it was good enough for Adam Savage it was good enough for me, and I was a keystroke away from buying one, at over $100, when I came to my senses. I found this parts organizer which is very similar to it’s German counterpart, and it was TWO organizers for under $30. Hard to beat that.Things that could be improved: The mechanism that locks the two boxes together for easy storage could be stronger. It just feels a little flimsy. The catches that release the lids on the boxes are just kind of strange. Finally, the dividers in the front section of the box are permanently attached. It would have been better if all the dividers could be removed and placed wherever I wanted. For the price, though, these boxes are pretty decent. If I were using them for work and throwing them in and out of a truck or van then I would get the $100 German box. But for around the house and occasional use they’re fine.
Just as described, and I think it's a great value.
First set arrived broken. Still waiting for the replacement.
I really love these interlocking small item storage boxes! They fit and lock together perfectly with my old HDX boxes of the same size. I’ve been using them to organize accessories for my sewing machines, and they’re just right. I was a little unsure at first, but since I couldn’t find the HDX boxes to match the ones I bought five years ago, I took a chance after seeing another reviewer say these would work. I’m so glad I gave them a shot!
