08-03-2026Purchased for our 7-yo grandson. Most coats I found in stores were cheaply made and I felt they would not last a single winter, so I took to Amazon to find alternatives. Definitely well-made; I think it will hold up to the rough-and-tumble antics of a 7-yo boy sledding and playing outside. Can't recall if it's water proof but definitely water resistant (he was sledding for hours recently but his shirt underneath was still dry when he shed the coat). Great wind-block. He actually said he got hot in it (amazing considering how cold it was here). Velcro flap over the zipper provides more wind and water protection. Numerous pockets with Velcro AND thumb-hole to keep sleeves in place. Plastic zipper, so obviously concerned if it will hold up.Contemplated knocking a star off for price since I found the same coat at Sam's $10 less, but considering it was delivered with the trusted Amazon return policy, opted not to. I had simply given up looking at coats in multiple big-box stores when I ordered.I anticipate this coat will not only survive the winter, but will be passed on to another kiddo in the family next year.

08-03-2026A little heavy comparatively, but not too heavy, just heavier than other brand jackets we have.The outer fabric has slightly stretchy rubbery feel but seems of good enough qly (quality).I fear that any sudden force on armpits etc while kid is playing outdoors may rip the stitching, but so fare so good.Inner sherpa lining seems of good quality and is warm and color is good too.Jacket fit true to size.I got it on discount price and it's worth it on discount.

After researching, I did check the seams and everything appears intact - no tears or any such issues; I will update after a wash if any seams come undone but of course if you wash the coat I am sure it is a great idea to wash on delicate and solo. I didn’t ask my son for his opinion when I ordered this as I ordered it on Monday on my lunch break because I realized it is getting cold & thought he could use a new coat. It arrived today and my son was so happy to try it on he absolutely loves it! He really appreciates the furry lining and said it’s warm. The jacket is a good quality. I think it will be perfect for winter, it isn’t super puffy but the material is thick. My son loves to wear hoodies so I am sure he will still layer up during the colder months but it seems like this should do just fine to keep a kiddo warm on its own. Will update later!

Totally waterproof—we’ve had zero complaints about being wet or cold after outdoor play. It’s well-insulated but not bulky, so they can still move around easily. The zipper is sturdy, the hood stays up, and the fit is true to size with a little room to grow. Bonus: the colors are super cute and actually make it easier to spot them on the playground. Highly recommend for any parent who needs a reliable winter coat!
