08-03-2026This is my second Zebco product. I previously bought a dock demon last year for a camping trip that performed well but I didn’t have any luck catching fish. It also broke in my car less than a month after the trip. I bought the Roam for this years trip and it performed flawlessly. Setting it up was a breeze. It casts farther than the dock demon and I caught over a dozen fish casually casting throughout a couple days. The line green is fun and helps stick out. Seems to be very sturdy and well built. Line never tangled. Very comfortable in the hand. The only knock is that for $50 I think a carrying case should be included but at the same time… $50 is that bad for a rod/reel combo. The included line got the job done. I will leave it in my car for the remainder of the fall and will update if anything crazy happens.

08-03-2026Took it on my kayak this weekend. Caught a little 10" striped bass. Rod snapped on the last telescoping section. Just snapped right off. Getting really unhappy with zebco products recently as this is the 3rd or 4th zebco product that has been shoddy.
