Ugly Stik Complete Spincast Reel and Fishing Rod Kit

Love this pole. It is light weight and easy to handle. Actually bought it to fish off of my kayak . It is great for lake fishing, might be too light for marine.

Ugly stick has always been a quality affordable rod and reel. Only thing I changed was the line because I wanted the line I know works for me.I just have fun fishing and have caught catfish, bass, bluegill, and nice trout with this pole. I like how it comes apart and is easy to put away. Very smooth and not grabby at all after changing line.I only bought this one because unfortunately this year the same pole/reel brand I had that was pretty much identical just 17 years old finally fell apart. So this one I am thinking it should last a while too.I highly recommend because I cannot say anything bad about the pole or reel by this brand. Just the fun factor alone you can't beat that. Get one, have fun, and catch fish.

Great rod to start a fishing hobby, easy to put together. Took my 11yr old son on his first fishing trip for Father’s Day, he hauled in a 5-pounder with this rod! Works great! My only complaint is the string — it doesn’t seem to be spun on there properly and after a few casts the line was tangling and unspooling from both ends. Thankfully I was able to pull off enough line until I found the tangle, Then reeled it back on using a little tension, but a better line wouldn’t do that.

Received this pole for my birthday a few days ago & couldn’t be more happy! the color is so pretty, and this pole can cast pretty far in all honesty. I saw some people say that the tip of the pole looked “stripped” of the color. If you know anything about the brand it’s actually supposed to be!Ugly Stik rods have a clear fiberglass tip for increased strength and sensitivity, providing superior bite detection, especially for smaller fish, without sacrificing the durability for which Ugly Stiks are known. I'm a pretty awful fisherman, but my daughter has wanted to go, so I got her this rod. It's been a great rod so far, and we use it at the nearby lake without any issues. It's light enough that my nine-year-old (who is small for her age) has had zero problems with the weight or size. And she loves the color!We've not had any issues with line tangles (at least, not when she was using it the way she was taught!), and the size makes it portable and easy to carry back and forth from the car. We love this rod, and it was a great purchase.

Good product for the occasion/beginner angler except for the reel (synonymous to a 17th century bard). I was setting up the pole for my grandson and the reel would not pay out line. I opened the plastic case to find a broken clutch pin. The reel case is plastic and the internal metal parts are stamped tin and cast pot-metal akin to dental amalgam. Reel went straight into the trash. Upgraded to a much better quality casting reel. No complaints about the Ugly Stik 2-piece rod. The rod has a medium action that’s more than enough for most freshwater game fish. Grandson loves it. The 2-piece takedown rod is very portable and packable. Too bad there’s not a case included for the rod & reel combo. Still a very good value for the rod but be ready to replace the included reel; It’s almost like buying a new car with Ball retread tires mounted on it.
