I’m very happy with this adjustable dumbbell set. The weights are easy to change, making it simple to adapt to different exercises and strength levels. I purchased these weights due to the fact that they could be used both as individual dumbells as well as a barbell. I thought what a great idea! The materials used in the construction of the weights leaves much to be desired. The center bar is made of foam covered plastic that has a thin metal, hollow core. At each end of the center bar are threaded, female inserts press fit into the ends of the bar. These inserts are where you screw the dumbells into to turn them into a barbell. After about 4 uses, the center bar threaded ends started working out of the center bar, with the dumbells attached. This could definitely be a safety issue if one of the dumbells worked loose enough to fall out of the center bar which I assume would cause the weight of the other dumbell to likely cause the user to drop the bar with the other dumbell attached. Really poor construction and materials used.I decided to try and repair the threaded collar on my own. I confirmed that there was no adhesive used to secure this collar into the center bar, just that they were press fit into the center bar. I cleaned the interior of the center bar with alcohol and used JB WELD adhesive to secure the collar into the center bar. After the adhesive cured, I attached the dumbells to the center bar and used it to work out. As soon as I did Curls the other side collar started to work loose. I have to buy more JB WELD in attempt to repair that side as well I should also note that there are the red retaining "nuts" that hold the weights in place on the dumbells. You have to really tighten them down because if not, they work loose as well during use. I wouldn't purchase this again or recommend it to anyone else. I only gave it 2 stars because it is a great idea...if they used better materials and designed it better.

Great quality, wasn't expecting much for the price but I'm glad I went ahead and ordered it. I purchased the 25lbs. I love the versatility but I basically keep it as a barbell without switching back and forth. Some reviews mentioned the screws coming loose which they do a bit but it's no big deal if you tighten them with a firm grip and force. Overall it was a great purchase at a great price.
