To that end, this new generation of MWE Gold units continues this vision with a number of improvements to the original design with a negligible change in price. Rock-Solid, Whisper-Quiet Power That Just WorksThe Cooler Master MWE Gold 850 V2 impressed me from the start with its sturdy build and thoughtful design. I used it for a mid-to-high-end gaming and productivity build—Ryzen 9 5900X paired with an RTX 4080—and it has handled everything I’ve thrown at it without a hiccup. Startup is instant, voltage rails stay steady even under heavy GPU load, and fan noise is practically nonexistent unless you’re pushing sustained wattage.Installation was straightforward thanks to the fully modular setup. The flat black cables are flexible and easy to route cleanly, especially in a tight mid-tower case. It comes with two EPS connectors, which is helpful for modern motherboards, and the included power cord and screws mean you can get up and running without hunting for extra parts.Thermals have been excellent; it stays cool to the touch even after hours of gaming. Efficiency is solid—Gold-rated performance with minimal waste heat. It’s a definite upgrade over the older Bronze or semi-modular units I’ve used before. If I had to nitpick, the included cables aren’t sleeved or braided, so they don’t have that premium look some enthusiasts want—but for reliability, silence, and clean power delivery, this PSU hits the sweet spot.Bottom line: A dependable, quiet, and efficient 850-watt modular PSU that’s perfect for modern GPUs and future upgrades—excellent value and performance from Cooler Master.

This is a great PSU. I love that it's modular because installing peripherals is easy and cord management is also EASY! I'm running a b650 motherboard, 2 ssds, CPU cooler, CPU, and a GPU. Probably overkill, but this was rated so well, it just made sense to future proof.

This is high quality and feels very well-built. The cables are long enough for easy routing, and installation was straightforward. The fan is quiet, and the semi-fanless mode keeps noise minimal under light loads. Fits perfectly in my case and powers my setup without any issues.

I have been using this PSU for about a year now and it has been great, I have had no issues with it. The modular nature of the PSU makes cable management super easy and it fits my case perfectly well

My only complaints are to do with the modular cables. They are ultra stiff and difficult to route. There were not enough power cables to power my case fans but I have a collection of extra cables. A great option would be they sell this modular PSU without cables and you buy what you need à la carte. There is a useless molex at the end of each run and no molex where I needed it for fans. My case is 17 years old tho maybe this will not bother average customer with a modern case. This is replacing a 1KW Zalman that preformed like a champion for 17 years. That PSU never died but started to black screen at peak power. I hope this one will be a similar value only time will tell.

My need for this card came about because I finally bought a current GPU that was near the top tier. Previously I had only bought current mid-tier GPUs (3060ti, RX6800) or top tier cards that were 4-years old. All my previous power supplies only had a single PCIe power line that had 2 daisy chains off of it. This worked great - even if I had multiple GPUs. Upon upgrading to a top tier GPU, the computer would hard crash during GPU intensive tasks - meaning it would be unresponsive to power or reset and could only be restarted by cutting off the power at the wall, then turning it back on. It did sound like a PS issue. At first, I went through my current power supplies - going from 500W to 750W to 1200W. But all the same thing. Then I read on the internet that this is common with top tier current gen GPUs (RX7900, RTX4080 or better) when the GPU is being fed off of a single PCIe daisy chained line. All my PSU, including the 1200W only had a single PCIe line daisy chained into 2.I looked for a name brand PS and found this one. I ordered it the thursday before Easter and it arrived in 2-days as promised. Since it's a modular PS, it takes slightly more finesse than just a wired PSU. The connections need to be run to the mobo and devices first, then dangled where the PS will be mounted. Then after putting the PS into position (before screwing it in), the cables needed to be hooked to the PSU, then the PSU screwed in.So far so good. No crashes yet. It's also quieter than all the ones it replaced and they were all known name brands - albeit all at least 2-years old. If it doesn't solve my problem, you can bet I'll be back with an update. Fingers crossed.

Had this psu in my system roughly 6 months no issues cool and quiet, but one thing I think people should be aware of is the right angled 12v high power cable this is not compatible with all gpu’s that use this connection as there isn’t a standardized orientation of it so in my case I ended up having to use the pcie to 12v high power adapter provided with the graphics to be able to connect gpu to psu without bending the cables sharply at 180° back down to the bottom of the case. Now this is partially my fault for not looking closely at what I was buying but I doubt many others will either so if you see this just be aware.
