My busy schedule has been making it difficult to dedicate time for the gym so I’ve been using my Gorilla Bow at home and on the road. I’m getting a solid full body workout and more than enough resistance with the heavy band kit.
Very sturdy bar that breaks down to fit in my luggage. I’m an airline pilot and all the hotel gyms are closed. When they open I plan to continue to travel with this because it is a better workout anyway. Hotel gyms suck.About 2 months after I purchased the Gorilla Bow one of the bands snapped. They replaced it quickly and made up for the inconvenience.I love the product and the service is even better. Highly recommended.
this has been the an awesome gym replacement. I can do almost all the various exercise for each body part. And surprisingly, the more I use it, the more creative i become. I am finding new ways to use the Gorilla to attack each body part.
I bought this Gorilla Bow when I was building my home gym, as the gyms here currently require visitors to wear a mask at all times regardless of vaccination status. I got the travel version so it would be easy to collapse for storage, and take it to work with me to use during downtime. I mainly wanted to see if it could replace the need for owning a barbell for things like squats, deadlifts, bar curls, shoulder presses, etc.To get right to the point, this thing is great for getting a workout in virtually anywhere, but it is just not something I would recommend to an avid fitness enthusiast, and especially to anyone that lacks good balance/flexibility.I'm not sure how they rate their bands to be a certain "weight", but the weight labelled on the band doesn't matter. What matters is the exercise you are doing, and how much resistance that exercise is causing (how much that band is stretching). For example, I use this mainly for "barbell" curls and squats when I don't have free weights handy. I bought the Ultra "Heavy" Band Set to make it more challenging. First off, OW. In order to set this bow up for squats, you're gonna have to be limber and squat very low on the ground, with your feet on the bands and pulling the bow over you head onto your shoulders, and then lift up. Once you're standing, it is a VERY sketchy situation where if you mess up and your feet slip, you're taking that thick band(s) to the chest/face.As far as resistance goes, it all depends on how far you can spread your feet while maintaining balance. There's not really a way to tell how much weight you are squatting or curling. So this training is really just meant to give you a quick workout with inconsistent "weight".Personally, I still use this occasionally because of the convenience of portability, but I always feel uncomfortable using it. The thought of those bands coming back up and hitting me in the face run through my mind the entire workout, and I'd much rather just use a barbell holding actual weights.
This device was not good for working out. The bands provided little to no resistance and bow was too heavy.
I'm just getting started on the Gorilla Bow, but so far it's pretty stellar. I just bought the short 100 lb bands, so that should really help in the chest press.
As a result of COVID gym closures, I started to research fitness equipment a few months ago in an effort to build out a home gym. While in my early 50s, I’m a discerning fitness enthusiast who has been training hard for over 30 years. Through my online investigation, I kept on encountering very positive reviews for Gorillabow. Having a preconceived notion for resistance bands, I initially wasn’t interested.I finally pulled the trigger and purchased a basic Travel Gorillabow kit. Upon the first use, I was very pleasantly surprised. The bar felt fantastic, the bands felt even better. Initially thinking this was going to be a small part of my at home routine, I quickly realized that Gorillabow is much more than that.As such, I’ve since purchased every accessory they offer. It was a total “a ha” moment when I realized that the ingenious Gorillabow short bands are awesome for bench press and deadlifts. It feels as authentic as metal and in some cases even better. Whether you are in the neophyte or elite camp, the possibilities are endless. I can’t wait to use Gorillabow on the road when it is safe to travel again. With the ability to easily transport lightweight, gym quality fitness gear like Gorillabow, you will never have to use a hotel gym again unless you want to. If you want to I’d still recommend to take your bow.Beyond the gear, I had a chance to experience Gorillabow after the sale customer service. CJ and the entire team tirelessly ensured that I was extremely satisfied with the service they provided. They went above and beyond in a way that you know they sincerely care about the product experience as much as the customer experience. If you are in the market, do yourself a favor - stop looking and buy a Gorillabow.
I've been working out for 35 years in various gyms. I travel a lot and don't always have access to what I need. No travel equipment was ever sufficient enough for me - especially without access to a gym - Until, I found the "Gorilla Bow Travel Heavy". I also have the original Gorilla Bow. Early on, I wished they made a travel Bow. Now they do!! Best travel fitness equipment- HANDS DOWN!
