08-03-2026I really like this belt. It arrives very long and you just need a pair of scissors to trim one end to the appropriate length for your waistline (it is marked on the belt 34, 36, etc.). Clamp the buckle to the end you just cut and there you go. Not sure why some people say that it comes loose, maybe they're just really fat and somehow that makes a difference, because when I clamped that buckle onto the belt, it's really on there. The buckle is very polished (perhaps chrome plated?) and looks great. The ratchet mechanism for tightening the belt means you always get the right fit.

08-03-2026I'm liking everything about this belt, especially the buckle which you lift up the U shaped portion to release instead of the other brands of ratchet belts that require you to search under the buckle for a small tab to release. I wish that this belt was also available in 1.5" width as well as the present 1 3/8". Shortening the belt to my size was easy enough.... but requires a lot of pressure on the grabber tab to lock belt to buckle after cutting off desired length. Belt material is good quality, buckle finish and color are superb.

08-03-2026I bought this for my husband. He loves it! It’s easy to use once it’s put together, and it looks so nice! Putting the buckle on the belt was more difficult than I expected, but still not bad. It makes it easier to get a perfect fit in the belt than traditional belts.

08-03-2026These ratchet belts are the best thing I've ever found in the way of accessories. No more belt holes that are either too tight or too loose. They're almost infinitely adjustable, so you just dial it in like you like it. And there's a wide range of adjustment.This particular one looks to be well-made and well-finished quality leather. I got the black one with gunmetal buckle, but they offer a variety of colors and buckles to suit your needs. I'm no stranger to ratchet belts and I've never had one fail due to the ratchet mechanism. I have had lower-quality backing fail, but this belt seems to made of good strong leather on both sides of the belt.I prefer this type buckle, too - there are some out these that don't use the "lift-to-release" method, and most of those use a small release button on the top or bottom of the buckle. My experience with those has been that it's too easy to release your belt by just bending over and accidentally pressing it. That's not good.I mis-ordered this particular belt by not getting enough length. I know now to order my belts longer than I think I'll need, since I can always cut them off to the right length. I might pay a couple extra dollars for the longer one, but I know I'll have enough belt.This is a 5-star belt, and I'm anxious to get my replacement.

08-03-2026The brown leather is a nice and rich. The buckle is a bit darker than shown in the product photo page. Instructions for adjusting the belt length is straight forward. Up cutting the belt the leather on both sides is rather thin and there appears to be a felt-type layer in between (see photo). The belt is not sturdy enough for EDC. Rather its function appears to be for dress/casual use.
