SKIL 10 AMP Fixed Base Router (RT1323-00)Speed control dial provides the right speed for the material, and LED lights on the motor base illuminates the work area. Its ergonomic handles and tough die-cast motor housing makes this perfect for routing with both 1/2 in. and 1/4 in. shank router bits. The 10 Amp Fix Base Router's 1-3/4 HP motor cuts through soft and hard woods as well as plastic, and is also equipped with a live tool safety indicator, three LED lights, soft start with 6-speed variable control, quick-set screws for fixing the edge guide, and a built-in vacuum port.SKIL Router Table (SRT1039)Compatible with many major router brands, the SKIL SRT1039 Router Table brings convenience to the job. Get started with the quick and easy router clamp that attaches your router to the underside of the table. With the above table router lift, you'll get convenient access to adjust the height of the router bits without reaching underneath the table. This router table is also equipped with a dual-sided integrated router bit storage system to store all your bits in a central location.
For what you pay this is a very nice tool. I used this to make pieces for kitchen cabinets including tongue and groove for five foot section of plywood bottom. You do have to be careful working with large pieces. The feathering blocks included very very helpful for holding wood in place while routing edges.Took was straight forward to assemble out of the box. Just make sure you line up the height adjustment on router to the correct hole and everything is easier.Router itself worked fine. I like the slow start motor and light.I used a Home Depot bucket head vacuum to help clear sawdust, seemed that work reasonably well. I do recommend hooking up some kind of dust collection system to make it easier to see your work. Tool has two outlets built into switch on table, so you can make vacuum and router come on together if you want.Clamped table to workbench using one c-clamp and had no troubles with my work. However, better to use two clamps or bolt it down if you can.Storage areas are handy.“Quick” change and mounting not all that quick and you should check that connections and settings are secure while you work as things can shake loose with any router systems. I did not have any issues with bits floating up or down, so clamps and settings worked well for me.The fence system also worked well for my project, but I can see where it may not be suited for very fine detail work. However, for table and router I don’t think you can beat the price.
Use it 5 days a week with no issues. I love it. Save money, does what it's supposed to. Easy symbol and set up and the cut quality is just as accurate as anything else I've ever used at a big shop. light weight and easy to move around the job. As long as you not cutting steel it has just the right amount of power to get the job done for your wood projects I've used it on some ABS with no issues too.
Table top made of unsealed MDF is perfectly flat, but will certainly deform over time with humidity. Fence is made of plastic, but is perfectly square. I was afraid the plastic legs would be flimsy, but it was surprisingly stable once assembled.Router has reasonable power and even has a nice dust post and opposing dust shield. Unfortunately when mounted under the table the router dust port faces forward (a bit design oversight). Replacing bits is a bit of a pain without removing the router motors from the base.Assembly instructions are virtually inexistent, but it comes mostly preassembled anyway. All is all it is a great inexpensive beginner router table. Simple, but workable. It has none of the problems the Bosch RA1181 I just returned elsewhere have and costs less than half of the price.
There may be options out there with more features, but not at this price point. The set has a real quality feel and works great. I mostly use the router with the table since I also have a palm router for hand held work. I guess my only minor complaint would be the side storage for router bits. It's ok but could have been designed a little better. I might have to 3d print some better shelves for that area.
Skill definitely makes a great product for a great price I needed a good precise machine to make the cuts I needed I had another one I borrowed but was hard to adjust, I decided to purchase the SKILL and was glad l did. This is a great tool for the home shop.
SKIL is back and as good as ever. If on sale for under $150 it’s a great value. Table is MDF & Plastic but it’s pretty good. Router is solid.
Arrived ok. Looks good but can’t use it as the plug is USA standard. Would have been useful to know this in advance. It turns out you need a step down voltage converter £90. It should be made clear at the point of purchase that this is not compatible with UK mains voltage.
I use this router table combo as a beginner to make some cabinet doors. I was able to make shaker style and Roman Ogee style doors with it and they came out great. The only issue I would have to say is that getting the fence dialed in can be tricky sometimes but it's definitely doable with a bit of practice. You have to use a straight edge twist down all the plastic knobs that hold the fence in place tightly but don't overdo it. Once you get it in place don't touch it. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase as a beginner woodworker. It practically paid for itself I was able to complete a garage shop cabinet build, a laundry room build and a few bathroom built-ins.
An amazing combo set. The router is beyond praise - accurate, powerful, convenient, reliable, with a soft start. The table is not quite as good as I would like, but you have everything to start working. Assembly is straightforward and I never looked at the owner's manual - everything is clear and understandable. The table assembled and secured to the stand turned out to be surprisingly durable. Initially, I wanted to use only the table top, believing that the plastic sides would not be durable enough, but after checking the strength, I decided to leave it as is and not spoil such beauty. Overall, I am very glad that I bought this set.
I had a slight misunderstanding where to hook up the vacuum hose and originally thought it was suppose to hook up to the router vacuum port directly but instead realized it is suppose to hook up to the vacuum port located on the fence. I just used it for the first time to route out some aluminum bar and so far everything works pretty good. I like the router with the soft start, above table router adjustment, and the competitive price. I was going to place the router on my work bench but settled for placing it on a rolling cart which worked out great. Update: the fence is a little out of line and one side is off center from the the other side which causes the product being routed to jump inward when transitioning from the right side of the fence to left side of fence. To remedy this I used a thick metal ruler between the fence and the item that I am routing.
