I have naturally wavy/beachy curls, but struggle to get definition without frizz and crunch. Typically without crunchy, stiff products, my curls loose their luster. I just used this Cake Curl Set (Curl Girl Shampoo, The Curl Next Door Conditioner, and The Curl Friend Curl Cream) for the first time last night and am already obsessed!! Super hydrating & thick shampoo and conditioner. I don’t typically use curl creams because they are too heavy and make my hair feel nasty the next day, but not this one. It is perfect! This is next morning hair out of bed in the pictures!! The products smell amazing, and my hair feels incredible and my curls looks gorgeous!! Like I’m ready for the beach ️ ladies! I highly recommend. Super simply system with great results!! I’m a minimal product kind of gal, and this set fits me perfectly.

I'm in love with this. I have white girl, gray medium coiled curls and I'm stunned how it has made my hair smooth and super soft and my curls defined. After 4 months of use I saw shine in my hair for the first time in years. With both shampoo and conditioner a little goes a long way like a salon product. The 3 piece set is the best value.Fragrance is sweet like vanilla cake, but kinda nice. I have stocked up during prime!

The photo is misleading. It shows the "lemon meringue scent" for all three products. Yet mine came as "Delicate lemon cookie" for the shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately the "Delicate lemon cookie" scent is gross and makes me gag when I grudge use it. The "lemon meringue" scent is really nice though!So far I am happy with the products, (aside from scent). Cleans my scalp nicely with no irritation or itching afterwards (sensitive skin). I have wavy hair, not curly, but this does help promote my natural wave. I would buy it again, but the "lemon meringue" scent ones .

Ok. So I have been using these, along with their separately purchased leave in conditioner, for a month now. I have type 2B-2C, medium course, fairly thick, no dyes/no heat styling, naturally gray(but it is actually blonde, who knew?), 60 year old, Irish girl wavy/curly hair. My honest review: it smells nice, but not overpowering and it doesn't hang around all day. It feels nice on your hair and rinses clean. The conditioner is pretty good at doing the job. The curl cream is good, but don't over-do it, especially if you also used a leave-in conditioner first. A little goes a long way if you apply to appropriately wet hair and brush it through well. My hair is left feeling soft, not weighed down, not frizzy, and managable. I will be buying this again and I would recommend it to family and friends. And, I actually love the leave-in conditioner and will be using it exclusively, even if I use other shampoo/conditioners.

Not a fan of this, very thick and heavy and the smell was not pleasant

While it may not work for other people, this has been the best shampoo/conditioner I have found for my curls that costs less than $30 a bottle.I wish they sold these in bigger bottles though. My hair is thick and down to my waist, meaning I go through these tiny bottles quick and the amount of waste in plastic is so sad.The smell is amazing, but does fade before leaving the house.Day 2 hair with a little bit of mist to reactivate the leave in conditioner is wonderful as well.

First off- too many reviews about the “bad scent”. The smell of a product is subjective. The scent smells slightly like bubble gum and light cinnamon mixed. So if ya like that- great. If not- move along to another product.Second - I think too many don’t understand how to really apply product and care for curly hair.I bought the shampoo, conditioner, and styling cream set. My hair gets used to products and I have to switch up occasionally. This is my switch up product. Upon first use, my hair is extremely soft, shiny, flexible and bouncy.Assuming you know how to shampoo and condition your own hair lol let’s skip to the styling cream. It should not leave your hair sticky, stringy, straw like, greasy etc. If It does you are using it incorrectly. I prefer to apply to my hair upside down but that’s up to you. Firstly, when you get out of the shower gently remove some excess water with your hands by cupping your hair in hands from the bottom and pushing up. Do this several times until you have removed about 20% of the dripping water from your hair. Don’t soak up 90% of the water from your hair by wrapping it in your terry cloth towel. Then, put a dime size amount of product in your hands and rub then together to spread the product around. Now gently pat the product through your your strands, in sections. We’re not trying to flatten our hair between our hands pulling down here. The point of leaving water in your hair for this step is to let the product and water in your hair mix some and soak into your hair. Get dressed, walk around a few minutes, brush your teeth or whatever to give it a few minutes. Now here’s the best step- don’t scrunch your hair with a towel. Grab an old t shirt and scrunch your hair to now absorb the water out. Air dry or diffuse from here. Also, STOP touching your hair while it’s wet and even damp. Let it dry completely. My blow dryer recently took a poop so I wish I could test diffusing because my hair comes out completely different. But air drying came out great like I would expect.

Now I don't have curly hair, but I do have some natural wave and wanted to see if this would give it a boost and boy did it. Shampoo lathers well, conditioner be cautious on how much you use a little goes a long way, and the curl defining same thing a little goes a long way. I just let my hair air dry, and i get some good wave action, way more than without it. My only thing is the smell, not a fan of the "lemon cookie" scent. It doesn't smell like lemon or cookie....whoever made up the scent might want to get their nose checked!!

WHAT!?!??? WOW!!!! I was wanting to buy this product for a while now but I kept putting it off because I have so many others. I should have bought this way earlier but I'm glad I bought it now and this is my now go to curl shampoo and conditioner. It smells absolutely amazing and the smell stays in the hair. It looks pretty which doesn't really matter but it looks good. Wanted to just try the shampoo and conditioner with no product and no routine to see what it did to my hair and how it felt. I have wavy curly hair and I can't even believe what just the shampoo and conditioner did to my hair with no routine or product. I have ringlets I literally brushed my hair once and let it air dry and my hair is Curly and wavy and soft and beautiful and this is the most my hair has ever curled like this. BUY BUY BUY!!! 10/10 Highly recommend

bought this after i discovered the brand cake who makes amazing hand creams alao makes hair care products. its been a week and i have uaed it twice and my hair which is course and crazy curly is now almost silky smooth and managable curls. plus the products smell amazing and ita not tested on animalsand another bonus its made in Canada. its a huge win win win!!! Just ordered thw body and hair mist... if the hand creams and the hair products are any indication... i think i have found my new favorites for my hair & skin care :)

The smell to me isn't bad but I don't love it. It smells like a lemon cake. The scent is strong but goes away quickly before I even rinse it out. My hair feels very clean after, maybe a little too squeaky clean but it doesn't feel dry. The conditioner feels heavy when applied but rinses immediately leaving zero residue. For me this is not a problem because I also use a leave in and have super short hair. When I had long hair it would have been a problem because it doesn't leave any slip. If I don't use any other products in my hair my curl pattern literally disappears which is very odd because even straightening my hair doesn't get rid of the curl pattern, especially in the back. It's left with a slight wave. I would love to know what ingredient is doing this. The curl cream is heavy and leaves my hair sticky with a weird film. My curl pattern does return with the curl cream. I will not continue using the cream because my regular mousse (the doux mousse def) does a much better job with no residue. With only the shampoo and conditioner my hair is soft and I have little to no frizz which is a plus because I struggle with frizz. Because my hair is so short I will continue to use it but I will never buy it again because I like my curl pattern and don't really know what to do with my hair without it.

I absolutely love washing my hair now because the smell is incredible. My curls are hydrated and soft. Highly recommend!
