I recently bought this printer and can confidently say it delivers everything I was hoping for (and more). From setup to daily use, it’s been outstanding. Why it impressed me:Setup was fast and hassle-free. The compact footprint keeps it from dominating my workspace. Print quality is excellent for the money, giving crisp black text and vibrant color photos. It includes duplex printing and an Auto Document Feeder (ADF) for multitasking: great for scanning/copying multi-page documents.Mobile and wireless options are well catered for — WiFi, mobile printing apps, AirPrint/Mopria support, which makes printing from phones/tablets seamless.Where it really stands out:In a mixed home + office environment, I had tasks ranging from photo prints, scanned contracts, daily document prints and it handled them all smoothly — no hiccups, consistent quality, and good speed.A few small things to note (but not deal-breakers):It’s not the fastest printer on the market, so if you’re printing huge batches constantly you might see slower times than a dedicated office machine. It’s still an inkjet, so ongoing ink cost will matter depending on your volume. If you require ultra high speed for heavy office work, there may be faster options — but for most home/SMB uses this is more than enough.Bottom line:If you’re looking for a reliable all-in-one printer that offers great print quality, useful features like an ADF and duplex printing, and modern connectivity — this a fantastic choice. I highly recommend it.
MY Canon MG 2662, which I used extensively for over 10 years, finally quit when the plastic gears stripped. I wanted another Canon, due to the picture print quality and the availability of after-market ink cartridges, and this one did most of the things my old printer would do. This TR7000 series has a smaller footprint, but is slightly taller, and uses different ink cartridges. My old one took six separate carts, so I only had to change the one that was actually empty. This new one uses only two carts: black, and color. Thus, if you run out of red, but still have cyan and yellow, you still have to change the whole cart. Also, the non-Canon ink cartridges for the TR7000 series are not as cheap as the ones were for the old MG series. This new printer is also noticeably slower than my old one. An annoying feature is that the output tray does not extend automatically like it did on my old one, and doesn't have a pull handle either, so if I forget to pull it out, the printed sheets end up on the floor. The LCD screen is tiny and monochrome, unlike my old one. That said, the printer was easy to set up, including the wi-fi, and I was able to start printing immediately. I downloaded the Canon Inkjet Smart Connect app, and it operates the printer more easily than the little screen and buttons on the printer. That app is necessary to do scanning. I also downloaded the complete instruction manual, which is more than adequate. I need to study it, however, to learn how to use the document feeder. The quality of the printing and scanning is just as good as my old printer, so I can't complain about that. It looks like it uses ink fairly rapidly, but I'm still on the "starter" ink cartridges that came with it. Maybe the XL carts will last longer. Overall, this printer is not as good as my old Canon, but apparently none of them are. I looked at more expensive models, and they didn't have the features I wanted, and added features I didn't need (like faxing). So, for the price, I'm satisfied, but I wish I could still buy the one I used to have.
Cumplió mis expectativas muy bonita y llegó rápido
Like the product. Like the price. Ink refill not too expensive. Copier turns off (times out) when not in use, but that could be a good thing. Doesn't fax, so I had to join the 21st century. A little slow but perfection is the enemy of good enough.
It works fine when it is recognized, but that in there lies the problem. Nearly every time I want to use it with my computer, it says it is offline. I can print from my phone just fine because it is obviously not offline, and I can use the scan function just fine, but printing, nope. At first I tried restarting my computer, which worked but is obnoxious when you are in the midst of work and have a bunch of things open, but then I realized that I can go to the printer settings, and print a test page. That kicks off the original item to be printed and also prints a test page. This is both a waste of time and money (ink and paper). The first time I printed an image, it was muted to all heck. I was like no way this is the way. So I Googled the issue. Now I can't remember how I fixed it, and I am sure I will have to Google it again the next time I want to print an image and actually see the colors. When it does print without issue, the quality is good. It is loud, which I didn't think would bug me because I don't print that often, but it is kind of annoying. Nothing I can't manage though. The scan function takes awhile, but so did my old printer, and this one has a document feeder that my old one did not, and that has been WONDERFUL. The paper tray doesn't pop out automatically, a feature my old printer had, and I miss that because where I have the printer, I don't like to keep the tray out because I fear it will get broken by my wonderful daughter who pays no attention to her surroundings. The software doesn't have Canon in the name, which makes it hard to find if you don't remember that it is IJ blah blah blah. It also looks like it is straight out of the 90s, and just has mediocre functionality. You do need an app to print from your phone. There is a Canon app, but I think the Mopria Print app is the one you want (Android).Basically do not get this printer if you don't have some level of technical acumen or if you don't have admin rights to your computer, and be prepared for having to do some research when things don't go as expected.DISCLAIMER: If you are buying this to use with a work computer to which you do not have administrative rights to create new users, DO NOT get it. This printer requires not just an admin user to install the software but a LOCAL admin user. So calling IT won't get the job done unless they believe you that it needs a local admin user and are willing to create one.
Box arrived without a cable and without an ink catridge.
