Took this rod to the Boundary Waters (Northern MN). Worked great on all fish, even the smaller fish felt like they had a chance with it. Got in back home in the four pieces I took it in, which is good, since my two piece rods usually come back in three pieces. Good weight, action and strength. Would by again. Used with a 2000 size reel, could work with a size up or down, imo.

Very nice. I enjoy the reduced size when you carry it in the SUV with lots of other stuff. I seems safer than a two pieces rod. It definitely looks sturdy enough as I managed to bring to the boat a 24 pounds northern pike. Perfect for two hands casts. Assembling and disassembling this 8 foot plus rod in a small 12 foot boat requires to get used to but it is completely worthwhile. Over all, great fishing rod.

I bought the 8’6” 4pc MH for a trip to Nova Scotia, where I was hoping to do some shore fishing. I was not disappointed. Though the rod seems underweight for a medium-heavy it performed very well with a shimano 4000 size spinning reel with 10lbs line and a 2”buzz bomb lure. I was able to cast over 100 feet, which was fine for the near shore striped bass and mackerel I got into (mission accomplished). This particular rod would not likely be adequate for BC pink salmon fishing but the heavy one, which I suspect is more like a true med-heavy, would likely do the trick when matched to the right reel.I’d recommend this rod with the caveat that you should consider the heavy over the med-heavy unless you like fishing light rods.

The KastKing Valiant Eagle Passage Travel Fishing Rod is an excellent choice for anglers who value performance and portability. It pairs perfectly with my KastKing Mega Jaws baitcaster reel, delivering smooth and effortless casting thanks to its IM6 graphite blank and Ti Oxide LTS ring guides. The 6-piece design is incredibly convenient for travel, fitting neatly into a suitcase or backpack without compromising on durability or performance. Despite being lightweight, the rod feels sturdy and well-balanced, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. The cork handle adds a touch of elegance while providing a secure and comfortable grip, even during long fishing sessions. Overall, this rod is reliable, portable, and versatile—ideal for any angler looking to fish on the move without sacrificing quality. Highly recommended!

Ordered the 7'6MH spinning. Had to order the rod straight to my airbnb while I was on vacation. Was supposed to arrive the following day of my arrival but due to delays it arrived a day later.Would've been nice to have a sleeve to protect the rods which could've prevented the following issue; I noticed some minor blemish on the rod while unpackaging which was a bit disappointing. Had I not had an urgency for a rod for this trip I probably would've done an exchange on it.Rod feels more in between a ML-M even though it was rated MH. Was tossing some 1oz weights per what it was rated up for and it handled it okay. Rod loads up well and has a nice bend to it. Caught a few saltwater spotted bass and it handled them well. Rod was sensitive also. Personally, for the price and quality, it far surpassed my expectations and I do plan to order a heavy model so that it'll feel more true to MH. Also, probably currently one of the best travel rods I own. It breaks down and stores compact so just kept it strapped right on the side of my backpack while flying back and didn't encounter any issues of my personal bag being considered oversized. Will be recommending it to my friends who will me traveling this summer to Alaska.

I recently picked up the KastKing travel fishing rod, and after testing it out on a surf fishing trip, I’m thoroughly impressed. I opted for the longest and most sturdy model in their lineup, hoping it would hold up to the challenges of surf fishing—and it did not disappoint. The rod breaks down into four pieces, making it incredibly easy to pack down and take with me on my travels. It fit perfectly into my checked luggage, which was a major convenience since I didn’t have to worry about carrying around a bulky rod tube or paying extra for oversized baggage. The ability to break the rod into smaller pieces while maintaining such great performance is a huge selling point for anyone who travels frequently. When it comes to performance, this rod really shines. Despite its compact nature, it’s both sensitive and strong. The sensitivity is noticeable, as I could feel every nibble and shift in the water, which is essential when you’re surf fishing. At the same time, the rod has enough backbone to handle larger fish. I had the chance to hook into a barracuda during my trip, and while it wasn’t the biggest catch, the rod performed beautifully. It gave me the power and control I needed to reel in the fish without any issues.Overall, the KastKing travel rod is an excellent choice for anglers who need something portable but don’t want to sacrifice performance. It’s strong, sensitive, and easy to transport, making it a perfect option for surf fishing and other travel-based fishing adventures. For the price, it's hard to beat the value this rod offers.

I already have basic travel rods for spinning and fly fishing use. What I was missing was a travel bait cast rod. This new addition to the KastKing line caught my interest with the various varieties available. Upon arrival, I was disappointed in the case, which really did not matter to me as is a standard plastic case in the industry. The rod itself was impressive though. Very lightweight and quality cork grips. Rod blanks are lacquered nicely with quality line guides. Fitment of each of four piece sections was smooth and buttery. Seating each of the sections took little effort with tight tolerances (known due to the force required to twist and align as should be). I agree with others that little alignment dots would be a nice touch, but don't find that major from experience. Immediately, I knew this was a perfect fit for my KastKing BFS reel due to it's light weight and action. One thing I was deterred by at first was the forward cork handle not typical of bait cast rods. This got me thinking - could I use this with other reels? Sure enough, I tested with a light 3-4 weight fly reel and 1000 size spinning reel. That forward cork handle actually adds to the functionality and all casted wonderfully! Yes, the finger grip could be in the way if fighting a monster. Yes, that first line guide is not ideal for a spinning reel, but I was casting light line 100 feet with ease. My intentions for this kit will be in the western backwoods while hunting and don't plan on any monster fish. Now I have a very lightweight kit in my pack when coming across a stream or beaver pond. This rod, BFS reel and fly reel came to a measly 13.69 ounces! If I later add a KastKing SFS reel (5.3 OZ), that is still less than 20 ounces, with various options in the field. Very happy with my purchase!
