AMD Ryzen 5 5500 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler

This is a great budget part for a gaming PC. I use it for 4k gaming and it works well with most games that are not CPU dependant. It has 6 cores which is a sweet spot for gaming. The CPU stays nice and cool with the stock cooler under load. This is a good processor for a 4k rig. Pcie 3.0 makes very little difference in game play.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 was an excellent choice for my PC. Installation was straightforward, and the included Wraith Stealth cooler maintains good temperatures without needing to invest in another one. it's AMD's most basic Zen3 proc, doesn't even have the IGP. For my use case, it was absolutely perfect. i wanted an affordable, capable, stable chip for a 24/7 always-on dedicated folding system. It's power efficient, it's perfectly performant for any reasonable use case, and it comes with a dedicated cooler with pre-applied heat paste. And for the price, it's unbeatable IMO.

This is an excellent PIB. I didn't have to apply any paste - it came included and applied quite evenly. The heat sink and fan keep it below 80 Celsius. It pairs well with my rtx3060, running marvel rivals at 160 frames per second almost constantly. None of the pins were bent when it arrived. After installation, my computer was significantly faster on boot and when compiling shaders. I have yet to give it a test in cycles to see how fast it renders a 3D scene so I will update this review after I have the opportunity.

Great for my budget build, overall performance is decent in modern AAA titles especially for the price. I got mine in sale for ~$60 USDHere are some benchmarks I've done.Baldurs gate 3 Ultra 1080p:~60fps some dips in high intensity areas and fights.Elden ring high 1080p: ~50-60fps can maintain 60 fps with some tweaks.Red dead redemption 1080p high:~45-60 fps with tweaks it can maintain 60 I'd suggest turning down shadows and volumetric clouds.Star citizen max 1080p:on Lorville 25-30fps.In space during ship combat 50-60fps around yelas astroids.Overall it is a good and reliable budget CPU and you can't beat the price to performance, if you're like me and don't really play many super AAA games and mostly play RPGs, games like Project zomboid, Satisfactory, Dayz, CS2, and some other more lighter on the graphical side video games this processor would be great with a mid tier GPU.Be mindful too though and understand very graphically intensive AAA games will stutter with this CPU it's not meant for these types of games it can run them but don't expect ultra quality, and definitely nothing above 1080pThermals: under heavy load from stair citizen ~80-85C.Highest ive seen it peak was 92C but I'm still running the stock cooler and it was installing and compiling some heavy files and it only peaked for like a minute than remained in the 70-80C range.My build:Ryzen 5 5500GTX 1660tiGigabyte B550 gaming x v216GB DDR4 3200Mz T force RAM512GB Inland NVME SSD

Product works great but I was a little skeptical when I took the cpu out of the box because I noticed a little dent in the surface but I slotted it in anyway and it works it was just suspicious you never can tell what you're gonna get when you order something

The Ryzen 5 5500 is awesome. It provides excellent price to performance if you're use cases isn't heavy gaming. But here's the funny thing- it can still heavy game! (With expectations.)I bought this around a year ago now, and it still feels new. On my B550 & RX 5700XT, I play all sorts of games, from Competitive to Story to AAA alike. If you're FPS expectation isn't through the roof, it can game at high settings with a good paired GPU no problemo (I love you Death Stranding).This isn't an R7 5800X3D guys. And note that it's still locked to PCIe 3.0. But even for the AM4 platform's age and the processors performance, this will be well enough for many people, including myself. I've had chances to upgrade but never saw the need.TLDR:Excellent processor for all around usage, gaming, and productivity without breaking the bank. 6C/12T Value Beast!

I upgraded it from 2400g, it works mine 320h motherboard without any problem. And I can see a significant jump in performance. specially in video editing.
