A Carhartt classic. This women's weathered duck coat adds arctic weight insulation for maximum warmth. A quilted nylon lining makes for easy on and off over layers. Wear it with or without the hood. A loose fit offers our roomiest cut with plenty of room to move.
Love the fit and warmth of this coat. I receive compliments on it. Wind resistant and perfect for doing outside work, cute enough to run errands.
Bought for the wife as she has a number of their items. This is out of the workwear stable and not to be confused with the WIP range. Great quality and a bargain price when I got it. Will last for ages and stand up to the rough and tumble of daily life. Loads of pockets and a great warm interior where it’s needed and has a detachable hood if it gets on your pip and a woolly hat is the only top lagging you need. Copied by a number of other brands but not a patch on Carhartt. Workwear to take on any workday 24/7
Sooooo nice!Loose fitGreat movementUnbelievable warmI love Carhartt products The cold literally cannot penetrate
Pros: great fit, well-made, will probably keep me warm but it's too hot out to try it, plenty of pockets, beautiful color, good price (for all of this, I'd give it 5 stars)Cons: very heavy...in weight (that's why I gave it 3 stars)
I brought this as a present for my wife, and she absolutely loves it. Premium quality product, extremely well made, and very comfortable to wear. 5*****
Exceptional quality
When I got this duck coat, I really loved the simple style, deep red fabric, the heft of the cotton, and the fit was just roomy enough to layer without getting constricted. The buttons and zipper option was appreciated, although the zipper needs a little work to pull together. The body lining feels really warm and the sleeve lining allows for a smooth entry. The hood, which is detachable, is a nice feature. There are enough pockets for me to store essentials, although the slip-on pockets on the side might have a little too small of an opening for some girls. This Carhartt coat is worthy of someone who ventures out in the elements and feed the chickens or do hard work outside...but it doesn't fit my lifestyle. It felt heavy to carry, although when you put it on you don't really notice it much. It felt too much of a coat for me, so I had to return, but I have the utmost respect for sturdy coats like these...like they would last a lifetime.
I had purchased other jackets from the brand before and was impressed with their quality, fit, and function. One of them saw me through heavy rain over a 20 min walk and once I got inside and removed it, its inner layer and myself were absolutely dry. So when I saw this longer model I decided to give it a try as my fall jacket. It’s been a month now and I wore it almost every day, Yes the canvas is stiff (as it’s supposed to be, this is not a puffer jacket) but it quickly molds to your body if you give it a chance, and feels as cozy as a heavy blanket, without being cumbersome. I am 5’9/175cm with a long torso and it hits me below the bum. I am a size 14, 38B and chose the XL, my size on all my jackets. The fit is gorgeous: the shoulder seams are properly aligned (unpopular opinion: I don’t think droopy shoulders are a good look), I can layer if I want (think thick, wooly Aran sweaters), or wear it with a plaid shirt and still look nice. I can cross my arms and move freely, and the sleeves hit me right at my wrist. I wouldn’t want it any longer because whenever you need to wash your hands or do something else, long sleeves become a nuisance. If I’m cold, I wear gloves. I wore it under temps ranging from 10C to -10 (layering when needed) and was comfortable. Once you go out it can feel a bit chilly at first but since I walk everywhere, my body temperature quickly adjust and for some reason this coat feels breathable, as opposed to the plastic bag effect one might experience when wearing a 100% polyester jacket (on that note, do yourself a favour this winter and invest in natural fibers like merino wool if you can. After I did it and got rid of my poly fleeces I never looked back). The pockets are awesome and well placed, I rarely carry a bag with me when I wear it. And as for the double zipper and buttons: maybe I lucked out, maybe I have the strength and dexterity of an octopus, but I cannot agree with the negative comments. The double zipper works perfectly and is very easy to do/undo. I had one of those waxed canvas jackets from the expensive British brand everyone wears at Glastonbury fest and THAT was a nasty double zipper. This is actually surprisingly smooth considering how heavy duty and surrounded by stiff fabric it is. Same with the buttons, I can unbutton the pocket flaps with one hand. I got this jacket in Carhartt brown (the classic, lighter one) and it goest with EVERYTHING I have in my closet. Also, the fabric has passed the fur test: my two Maine Coons are yet to cause any noticeable damage with their excessive shedding. Yes it is an expensive jacket, almost as expensive as that British one I had (which I ended up giving away), but if the style works for you, go for it. Warm, durable, cozy, practical, and best of all, washable!
What a fantastic coat! I have already been wearing it in 25-30 weather while walking around some lakes here in MN and it is more than adequate- i expect it will hold up when the temps get much colder. The material definitely blocks the wind and the inner quilted lining and the material around the collar area and hood is so comfortable. At first the zipper may seem hard but once you realize how to do it, it's fantastic! I love the double zipper so I can unzip the bottom part to use the restroom quite frankly. On sizing - I usually take a 16-18 in womens'- I'm 5 feet tall and 174 lbs. Amazon had recommended the XL, which was WAY TOO BIG! I took a chance and ordered the Large and it is PERFECT. This is a great value for the money as it will last forever- super well made - a fantastic product across the boards. I'll continue wearing it this winter when I'm out walking for hours at a time and will update if i hit some temps that it can't handle. Highly Recommended!
I love this coat. I have owned multiple different Carhart jackets in the past and continue to be a loyal customer. The quality is exceptional. It is warm and has a nice weight to it which I appreciate. It fits true to size and even allows for me to have a sweat sweatshirt on underneath without being too bulky. All of my Carhart jackets always wash so easily and don't lose their color. It also keeps me dry and rain as well as heavy snowfall.
Great jacket. Love the color. I bought a Large initially because it was the recommended size. It was much too big and bulky. It was very large in the body. I returned it for a medium which is perfect. It was great in a light rain and the hood kept the rain out of my face. It is warm for 35-45 degree weather. Wore it riding a bike and it was great. Allowed freedom of movement. Pockets are great as are the hard warming pockets which are lined in soft fleece. Hood comes on and off easily, the neck is lined in fleece which is an added comfort. That does make it hard to wear with a scarf tied around the neck. Overall, highly recommend.
I want to love this coat! First, it’s as warm as I wished it to be. Thick and cozy. Easy to move hay and take care of the horse BUT I can’t zip it for the life of me. And to button it, forget it! The side pockets are almost useless. I can’t fit my small hands in them. The big front pockets have the buttons too so I can’t open them very well. I am keeping this coat only because it’s warm and cute.. I will have someone zip it for me I guess.
