08-03-2026I have had good luck with Kastking products, but I'm not happy with Kovert Xtreme six pound 100% fluorocarbon. I have a force meter (because I am a bit OCD lol) to measure break strength of my line and knots. So I was very disappointed when I first tested a double Polomar and modified Uni knot and found the line was breaking at the knot at 4.1 lbs. I repeated the test several times, best I got was 4.5 lbs. I tested the line itself with out any knots and only got 5.1 lbs. Most line tests will result in break strengths above the rated weight because they are supposed to rate the line over the entire length and to do that it is almost always better than listed. As a result I'm returning it. Still gave it three stars because I do like Kastking and maybe this was just a bad batch. The little QC Passed sticker that was on the line was a bit disapointing so who ever R/F 14 is - do a better job.

08-03-2026This line is used for leaders because of optics, cost, Etc. The packaging of this line is quite simply great. Putting the spool of line inside a box means it doesn’t spill all over the place. The box is easily opened, but locks shut securely. The reel spins freely, making it easy to dispense. The tab on the top made it easy to hang up while making leaders.Preparing for an upcoming fishing trip I recently snelled about 50 hooks of different sizes. The line made nice clean knots, and the dispenser made it a lot less messy than line just loose on a spool.I can even put it in my tackle box without worrying about it getting all tangled up. Great packaging.

08-03-2026Easily one of the best Fluorocarbon lines out on the market when comparing pound to pound to other brands like Seaguar, Iv found them pretty much on par. At the end of the day you just can't beat the price and quality of this product. i would highly recommend.My fishing buddy always gives me flak when i buy Kastking products instead of some other big name brand but at the end of the day the results are always the same we always catch the same amount of fish and even beat him several times with some monster size fish.
