Great value. Hard to find much fault with this device. It performs as expected. It's small and mountable. The signal covers a 3000 sq ft home. The included software is easily configured for a newbie as a router, AP or even client, but does not have much more detailed options you may find in more expensive routers. However it is also capable of running the latest OpenWRT if you want to geek out and unlock a wealth of new options, like VLANs. While you can brick it with flashing 3rd party firmware, you can also bring it back to life with Cudy's TFTP utility.
Me parece buena compra.
The router works as advertised. This router provides coverage for my entire home including my deck/patio areas. The installation was simple, even for an old man like me. Connectivity is a breeze and strong. I highly recommend the device.
Physically its small, probably half the size of my AX6000 Linksys. TBH you typically don't need 6gbps if your max speed is 1gbps. Most homes would be fine with AX3000.Setup was easy, access the interface @192.168.10.1 in a web browser. I had to reboot my modem for it to be picked up by the router. You basically set type of role (router, extender etc.), WiFi and VPN. There is a plethora of other options in the advanced menu. The menu isclean, nothing too flashy and that is a good thing IMO.I was able to download my VPN's Wireguard config and apply it under Wireguard client by uploading it. This should work in a similar way for other VPNs that use OpenVPN or Wireguard protocols.Apps that require a VPN were working with no additional VPN app running. You can also have it on/off for specific devices, very handy as for instance your blink camera or similar 2G device doesn't really need it to be on or might have issues. As for WiFi speeds, router is in an upstairs office. I was hitting 350+Mbps downstairs on on my phone, that is with the VPN settings applied. No issues with buffering etc. So I'd say that is decent and comparable to my MR9610v2. I have 500mbps that hits about 560-580 wired.I'll also check for a heatsink. If there are any bare chips I'll add one or two as needed. My Linksys has a huge heatsink, probably why it was so stable but it had no VPN option.Cons, due to it being smaller has less LAN ports and no USB ports for network storage etc. This brand certainly has my attention and I might add an outlet mesh node down the road or of they bring out a more advanced one this will be the 2nd mesh. All in all a cool little device and no issues on day 1. I'll report back on the heatsink and long term stability. 01/03/2024.
Excellent router, easy to set up, strong WiFi signal throughout a large 4 bed home. I do need another one to make a mesh network as signal is so good from this single one. Getting near max speeds on WiFi throughout the home! Great upgrade from a tplink ac1200 WiFi mesh network. Did not use openwrt but this is capable of installing the firmware onto it. The existing firmware is reliable and have no issues so no need to flash openwrt unless you really need extra features. Definitely recommend to all who want strong WiFi connection throughout their home!
I've recently had the pleasure of using the Cudy New AX3000 Dual Band Wi-Fi 6 Router, and let me tell you, it's been a game changer, especially as a secure travel router. The advanced capabilities of this device have truly impressed me.The Wi-Fi 6 upgrade is the star of the show. It's not just about speed, which is blazing fast, by the way, but also about how it handles multiple devices. On a family trip, everyone's gadgets were connected without any lag or drop in performance. Streaming, gaming, browsing - you name it, the Cudy router handled it like a champ. But here's the kicker - its smart beamforming technology. This feature meant that no matter where in the hotel room we were, we got a strong, focused signal. It felt like we had brought a piece of our home network with us on vacation. The dual-core processor ensures that everything runs smoothly. Whether it's for AR/VR gaming or just regular browsing, the performance is top-notch. The whole-house coverage claim holds up pretty well too, but it was its compactness and efficiency as a travel router that won me over. The DL/UL OFDMA & MU-MIMO technology is another standout. In layman's terms, it means that this router can handle a lot of devices and data, making it perfect for environments where multiple devices are in use simultaneously. It was like having a mini data center in my backpack!Security is a big deal for me, especially when traveling. The support for various VPN protocols like WireGuard and OpenVPN gave me peace of mind, knowing my family's online activities were secure and private.
Good working
It router works as expected ... Run smoothly and wireguard works nice, each device can be assigned to use VPN or direct connection to WAN.
Bought to bridge from my ISP modem. It seems to run a custom version of OpenWRT out of the box. They gave the option to flash to the vanilla version which I did so I could customize it a bit.Flashing was not too difficult and took less than 2 minutes to do after initializing. And of course, before attempting to flash please read the documentation first (hint: you need ethernet, WiFi will be disabled). So far it's been pretty good. WiFi 6 with good speeds both on 2.4 and 5GHz bands. I run in WPA3/WPA2 mixed modes for older device support. The wonderful maintainers for this model on OpenWRT is quite active and has released this year's version. The router only has 4 Ethernet ports at the back, 1 will be occupied for the WAN, this leaving with 3 for your devices. If you have more than 3 then you'll need to invest in a switch.I just wished it had a bit more space (both RAM and flash storage). That's one of my cavets. So only can be used as a little access point. For the money it's worth it. A lot powerful, modern and versatile than the TP-Link Archer AC series.
As soon as I got this set up internet improved across the board. Worth the price and easy to setup. Worked significantly better than my spectrum wireless router.

Boosting or Creating a Wi-Fi is up to You
Wi-Fi Router When Internet access from DSL or cable modem is available for one user but more users need to share the Internet, please use the Router Mode.
Wi-Fi Extender The Wi-Fi Extender (repeater) mode extends your Wi-Fi coverage to hard-to-cover area. *Requires firmware 1.15.5+
Wireless AP Wireless AP mode is more used to transfer wired connection into wireless. Usually, it is behind a router and doesn't has a DHCP server.
WISP WISP extends Wi-Fi but creates a subnet for connected devices, so it's safer than extender mode. *Requires firmware 1.15.5+
Pro Machine with Pro Features
VPN Server and Client Enables work from home and secure remote access with the support of popular VPN protocols. (Requires firmware newer than 1.16.1)
