I AM a sucker for tapes! - So while I didn’t have a good understanding of what I am getting I purchased the tape based on the pictures, the very confusing description - and good luck!**What I got was**:ONE roll, very large (not two as the pictures would allude to assume) - and the tape width of exactly 2”! - The tape comes shrink-wrapped but with no instructions or better said, no definitions of how to use, or what it adheres to (or not) - or what to use if for best! … One has to guess, as the inscription simply says “Klebeband” (Tape in German) or “Pressure Sensitive Tape” in English.- The tape is very thin, actually thinner than the red backing. - The backing is relatively easy to remove, but I just recently learned the most valuable trick: just stick a small strip or regular Scotch tape on the back, place the tape, then use the Scotch tape to remove the back; works like a charm. — I have not tried to remove the tape or object at this time, but will update as it applies.**What it does**:I was hoping it had indeed “automotive” qualities as in heat and UV resistance - and strong adherence, - similar to the very familiar “red tape backed” known brand - to that I did use it outdoors on some decorative items on my vehicle and so far it worked ok.- It seems to work ok on plastics, paints, resin, silicone/rubber, metal, and I even used it on fabric to plastic; it also seems to work on smooth (painted) wood.- I also used it outdoors in heat (but that has been less than a week now)- It didn’t work on rough wood -or- any surface that is uneven and has the slightest of unevenness, mainly I assume because the tape is so thin and lies very smoothly on surfaces, so doesn’t bridge any gaps.**Bottom Line**Possibly not too bad of a tape, may even work for outdoor projects on (very) smooth surfaces. One thing is the expense! - I would have never purchased the item on my own - if this was not for a review. $40 for a roll of tape that doesnt even declare it’s purpose and strength is simply outrageous. 3.5 STARS⭐️ -> (*My RATE SCALE*: 5=perfect; 4=minor imperfections; 3=on fence; not sure if I’d buy again; 2= too many problems; 1= shouldn’t be sold or is dangerous).

Orafol Double Sided Red Liner Tape is a transparent, double-sided industrial mounting tape consisting of a polyester film carrier, layered on both sides with a modified solvent acrylate adhesive. It has a very good resistance against UV radiation, extreme temperatures, chemicals, solvents and humidity. Its highly shearresistant adhesive has an excellent durability when attached to metal, varnish and high energy surfaces. It has a good adhesive durability when attached to low energy surfaces. Because of its high adhesive mass it is also appropriate for rough or structured surfaces.
Product FeaturesSuitability for critical demands such as heavy stress and high temperatures Used for the secure attachment of truck and car mirrors in plastic housings. Used as a self-adhesive medium for trims, covers and cable trunks. For the extension and splicing of paper, textiles, plastic and metal films where high shear strength and adhesion are required.
