Perfect fit and smells like leather. The stressed material looks authentic.
While I was initially skeptical that this jacket would meet expectations, I was thoroughly surprised when it arrived. For one, the jacket fit near perfectly — impressive since this is basically an off the rack item — with only the sleeves fitting poorly: they were an inch and a half too long. The sleeves were easy to tailor to my arm length and I had it fitted perfectly to me in less than thirty minutes. However, not everyone is going to have the knowledge on how to tailor a jacket to themselves if it does fit improperly, so that’s something to keep in mind.I was also pleasantly surprised by the color of the jacket. The images provided by the seller make it look as if it’s a lighter shade of brown than it actually is. In person — however — the color looks fairly accurate to the movies; it’s a nice dark brown that looks black depending on the current lighting. The distressing on the jacket is hit or miss — I’d have personally preferred to have it non-distressed in brown, but beggars can’t be choosers. In terms of being accurate, it’s not perfect. It’s not a Wested Leather jacket or even one of the overpriced jackets that Disney sells. However, it gets most of the details correct. If you’re going for a budget “Raiders of the Lost Ark” look or “Temple of Doom” look, then this’ll be fine. It’s not baggy enough to pull an accurate “Last Crusade” or “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” look; it’s also missing the studs on the storm flap that is present in “Crusade” and “Crystal Skull”.Moving past the aesthetics and onto the practical aspects, both pockets are nice and roomy and are both fitted with buttons on the flaps to ensure nothing falls out of them. Additionally, the jacket possess two inside pockets on both sides — the pocket on the left hand side also possessing a zipper to help keep valuables safe.Temperature-wise, the jacket is leather lined with some kind of synthetic silk. I’m not too sure what the liner is made of, whatever it is, it isn’t actual silk. However, the combination still succeeds in making the jacket adequately warm; combined with any long sleeved shirt — probably a button up if you’re going for an Indiana Jones look — and the jacket seems to be perfect for staving off the cold.Whether or not you’ll find it comfortable will be a matter of opinion. Personally, I think the jacket fits well and drapes just fine. Even outside of acting as an Indiana Jones jacket, it feels just as good as any other flight jacket I’ve owned. Genuinely, it’s something that I’d feel comfortable wearing in my everyday life. So, overall — for the price — you are receiving a leather jacket that is fairly accurate to a “Raiders of the Lost Ark” or “Temple of Doom” look, that is fairly comfortable, and very practical. The only issue will be the fit. Again, my only issue were the sleeve length being too long and I had fixed in thirty minutes tops. However, if you aren’t savvy at tailoring, I’d look at that size chart real carefully. As a budget Indy jacket, this is pretty good for it’s price. If you’re looking for something more, however, you’re better off spending the extra hundred to two hundred on a Wested Leather jacket, especially if you’re concerned about the fit.
Real leather and thick
I mean, it looks good and feels good. For under $200, it’s not perfect, but it looks pretty close to a realistic Indy jacket. I’m 5’11, 180 and went down a size (S) due to comments that the fit was big. I usually wear an M). It fits like a glove. Wrists are a little tight. The worn “effect” is a little tacky but at least it tries. Not sure yet on durability but it seems okay.
The jacket is surprisingly well made with the only real drawback being the smell. Whatever the leather was tanned with smelled atrocious. The smell does eventually fade though.
Item seemed of okay quality, but was too small. I even ordered a size above Amazon’s recommended size (I buy a ton of clothes off Amazon), and still too small. Super short, too, didn’t reach waist. If sized right, your pants and belt will still be a few inches below bottom of jacket. Sleeve length was okay, but that’s the only measurement that was okay.
Esta muy padre la piel pero la pedí talla grande y esta super grande parece xl
OK, full disclosure, I am an indiana Jones fanatic. I have several jackets and numerous fedoras. But they are all thinner lambskin with the exception of my US Wings, which is cow. I wanted a jacket that I could wear adventuring without the terror of perhaps wrecking one. Lamb is thin. This jacket is thicker than lamb, and will therefore more durable in the long run. But with it being thicker, it is somewhat stiff. So stiff in fact that I worried I had made an error with the size. After wearing it for a bit, it has loosened up quite a bit and I was right on the size. It fits like it was made specifically for me. This is not a perfect reproduction, however. The collar is a little smaller than the original. The sleeves are a bit narrower, so it's not on/off quick. There is a seem down the back. The shoulders do not lay like the original, but that is more than likely due to the stiffness, so they will probably lay better after wearing in. The pockets are all functional and are decently sewn. The distressing isn't excessive, which is great. Radical distressing can really ruin the look. The length is longer than the original, which I like. So it looks like a proper jacket. The satin lining is nice and well sewn. It should last a good long time. This jacket is warmer than my lambskin versions, but also quite a bit heavier. To me, heavy is a fine compromise to a more durable jacket. The side straps are a buckle affair and not the d rings like the original. I like them, so all good. At first I thought the three snaps for the weather flap would bother me, as the original had only 2, but it works well with this jacket. So, all in all, not a perfect reproduction, but certainly a serviceable one. I do recommend it and may get another as backup later.
I purchased this for my Halloween costume. Its surprisingly very well-made for the price, and smells like genuine leather. I'm tempted to wear it unironically but I'm resisting the temptation for now...I'm 5'9" 175 and the medium fits very well.It won't keep out the winter chill but its perfect for the Halloween season in the Northeast.Surprisingly comfortable.Faux-distressed leather.
I bought this jacket for my brother as a gift and he loves it! It's true to size and fits him well, the size chart for this item was indeed accurate. For a leather jacket, this is definitely a great deal for sure. It does have a bit of smell to it though, but I've been told that it should disappear after a while. The zipper works well and there doesn't seem to be any issues with it.
