These are fairly regular protective padded shorts for activities where you're likely to get hurt if you fall on the side or on your back. The pads are thick, but the size runs a bit small. I usually wear anything between large and XL, and the XL is a tad small for me at 36'' of waist circunference. It still fits, but it's very tight. Someone with a waist of 37'' will have trouble fitting in!
Life saver very comfortable!
Great snowboard shorts!
Es un short excelente. Lo recomiendo ampliamente
Pretty good shorts for the money. Good tailbone protection. My gripe is that the hip pads are a bit out of position, too low and too wide so they don’t cover the hip bones well.
Get these over the Ben ken’s. Seriously, they are more pricey but worth it. I picked these up for snowboarding when I was learning last season because my previous pair was only alright.Critiques of the other brand: foam not thick enough. When you pinch the foam you can feel your fingers on the other side. The foam also got softer and softer as the season went on and eventually wasn’t cutting it for me.This brand: fire. When I ate it on the slopes the first time wearing these I was shocked at how I barely felt anything. The foam is firm, which is exactly what I want, it doesn’t condense that much. What’s the point if the foam completely collapses underneath you when you fall? Makes a world of difference. Anyways if I fall really hard it still hurts but it hurts a lot less than other brands. Now, I got this with only one month left of the season so time will tell if they hold up but since the time has come to put these to use again, I’ll update after the season!Since then, I’ve been telling all my noob friends to buy these because they are worth every penny.
Nice quality, and it covers and protects my butt well.
As an admission of age, the idea of falling on one's butt when you're no longer in your 20s can be scary! So this winter, I finally want to get back on the slopes, but with a little extra "insurance". These padded shorts are comfortable and well-padded in all the right spots with shock-absorbing "sections". Because it's not just one giant continuous pad all the way around, there is much better mobility and flexibility. These launder easily in a washing machine and are very well made with quality stitching and fabric materials. Would definitely recommend!
Fits to size pretty well, I would size up if you're unsure, it's tight fitting. The padding is thick and I tested it by falling on the floor a few times lol - definitely softened the blow. You would need pretty baggy snowpants to accommodate, but well worth it if you're a new learner or scared of falling.
I haven't taken these on the mountain yet, so I will update once I get real world results. But I will say that sizing is defiantly smaller than posted, ordered a medium and it was so tight in the waist, returned easily, and got the large, and they fit perfect! I was at the limit of medium but not that much per sizing chart, go larger and you'll be ok!
Overall:• This one is finally is the one I have been long looking for.Satisfaction:• I am so happy to have bought this padded short after I actually field-tested in hot summer 81 F degree with humidity and REALLY like it so much! Background:• Until now, I have been buying, inspecting design and protection coverage (seeing pictures is quite different from actually physically touching it with hands to feel the fabrics), skin contact feeling of the fabrics and pad placements, and then deciding to return many previously bought padded protective shorts for the reasons like, 'bad design, pads not good, fabric itching my skin, the seam is not well made, fabrics not durable, not breathable, not good air/heat ventilation.Test:• Temperature & humidity: 82 F degree with high humidity 75% or so summer• Heavy full-body Sweat and Heat: running downhill long-boarding each run 1 mile downhill with turning and sliding (i.e., heating up my body temperature so fast with full sweaty around the padded short) and paddling myself and the board uphill back to the top of the hill – I was fully sweaty and wet after several runs.Assessment and Opinions:◦ Protection:▪ Yes, though I did not fall down to actually test it. I was able to feel all the freedom to make all my needed movements to controls my fast turns, sliding, etc and I don’t feel any constraint at all. I did feel that those thick pads and make me feel more confident to do my maneuvering during my downhill speed long-boarding.• Conclusion:1. This padded short is living up to what it claims – “excellent ventilation! My hip temperature is not that hot at all” though I can feel the heat around my hip. This padded short definitely is much cooler than all other kinds of padded shorts I have been using.2. The extremely skin-friendly very soft-feeling fabric of this padded short is the best feature also. It stretches all directions and the most important factor is it is so soft and has zero skin scratching or itching - I have very sensitive skin to be irritated by bad fabrics.3. The wick of sweat seems to work as the website claim. I don’t feel wet and watery between my legs or around my hip.4. The extra think pads and the additional thick pad to protect the tail bones is also the best feature too since it is so common to fall on the tailbone for longboarding (similarly in snowboarding) for me.• Suggestion (for other buyers and for manufacture to improve to be even much better:1. the tri-pads areas need to be smaller or change the shape to protect the greater trochanter bones exposure: when squatting down (a common technique in snowboarding and downhill long-boarding, also many active sports), the un-padded tri-pad areas will be stretched larger which happens to expose my both greater trochanter bones. If I fell down during this posture, my greater trochanter bones will directly hit the ground. With this fact, when choosing the size, you want to choose a bit larger size to prevent the stretching during squatting down – stretching the tri-pads meeting areas (both sides).2. The seams can be changed to the in-side-out style to make skin-friend since I am not at all concerned about how the short looks (especially wearing my sports shorts or skate-pants. The skin-friend is more important than it looks!
The quality is excellent, with durable padding that provides solid protection for activities like snowboarding, skating, and skateboarding. I got them in medium, and the fit is spot-on... snug enough to stay in place without feeling restrictive. They’re comfortable to wear for hours and give me that extra confidence. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for reliable impact gear!
Great for any kind of extreme sports, really nice padding. Worth the money.
