08-03-2026I’ve played Pro V, Taylormade TP5, and Callaway balls, almost exclusively. These chrome tour balls, though, aren’t my favorite. For the price, I would prefer the Pro V 1 or chrome soft for the feel and spin. These balls feel harder off the face than my chrome soft, for sure, and I get just as much distance off the drive (around 260 carry) with either ball. It’s the approach where the chrome soft definitely wins over this tour ball. I get tremendous spin from my chrome soft and can land them softly on the green, where I’m getting a lot of extra roll out of these tour balls that make it harder to judge approach shots.

08-03-2026This ball goes pretty far. I really noticed it on miss hit pop ups. Other balls leave me so short on a pop up. But this ball actually gets some distance. 150-175 yard pop up with other balls and this one goes 200. This ball has a good amount of spin. Stops on those greens better than my Srixon divides. I love that. I wish the ball line was lined up with the dimples though. My only complaint with this ball. But over all this is my favorite ball so far. This ball may be a little too hard for my swing speed as I have a mid speed driver. But if your swing is pretty fast this is the ball.Disclaimer I have not played the pro v 1 or Taylor Mades. But, this Callaway Chrome Tour X is an amazing ball. Maybe to good for me at my playing level. If you have higher swing speed this ball will cook.
